Maybe I wasn't clear - was saying I don't think its a super car as its aimed at cars like the WRX, but that there are golfs that actually are technically classed as super cars.

By 'Golf' I assume you mean 'Volkswagen', and if so what Volkswagens are 'supercars' and how do you 'technically class' a car as a supercar?

I re-edited the post. The VR6 was considered to be in super-car territory - it met all the criteria except cost on release.

Its generally accepted that a supercar is one in a league of its own - there is however a criteria for technical purposes.
