Core 2 Duo E8400 Vs Core 2 Quad Q6600

I went for the E8500 at that price. I reckon it's worth the extra £50, will take the load off my mobo and ram :).

Then it's all gravy baby.

So considering the E8400 can be had for £129, E8500 for £180 and the Q9450 for £218 + new motherboard(for me) what would you go for?

Too early to say, best waiting for plenty of overclocking results I think now.

I thought you were getting a bike :D

Ummm yes I may be, I'm just a speed freak I only want a new bicycle like a road bicycle that can make me go faster and I only want a new CPU to go faster, just speed freak :D, not like those guys on LN2 or water cooling tho oh no they just another level :p

I still thinks £180 is abit too steep for a dual core CPU at this time but we do know with an E8500 its pretty much an easy ride to 4Ghz+ ;)

Stop the competitor hinting now lads ;).

It's around the same price as a E6850 which ain't bad at all. I'm in it for the ride ;).

4.5Ghz here we come.

Guys this ain't Mountain Biking UK.

E8500 is worth it's price. It's the best bet if you want serious speed (they are the higher binned chips AFAIK).

Perfectly calm :D

We all know where a little bit on the side leads to.

I sold my E6600 for £70 so decided to go the whole hog and plump for the top dog. Hope it's worth it.

All we can go by is the CEO's info (nobody knows anything more than he does) and thats BS, game was said to be about CPU, dont load up 1 of my Cores nevermind both (many peeps on Quads seen same issue), so wont matter if I had a Nvidia 9950 Ultra SSC ACS3 it would still run crap.

The very fact that the CPU isn't 100% loaded should tell you that the CPU isn't working all the time. This is because the GPU is holding the whole show up.

Crysis is GPU limited, its all over the net.

sorry...just another thing...didn't the CEO say Crysis would run on full whack on a 8800 as well? hmmmm...i think Cervat might have been winding Helmutcheese up...and anybody else who takes marketing literally...!
