core speed issues

Personally, I would reset it back to stock speeds until you get a new cooler, since 86 degrees after only a few minutes at 100% load is really too hot. Also, I wouldn't recommend running the BLCK at anything other than 100MHz.

True, I will reset after work tomorrow.
How do you mean you wouldn't recommend running BLCK at anything other than 100mhz? Sorry nooob here

The Sanbridge Range can't be overclocked using the BCLK like Intels other ranges without coursing damage to the cpu. To overclock you need a K series cpu which has a unlocked multiplier, so you keep the BCLK at 100mhz and raise the multiplier.

Nice RAM, and it won't limit your CPU cooler choice. Also, with a massive case like the HAF-X you can literally get any tower heatsink.

With that budget I would go for this Thermalright X silent edition. It is a good cooler and runs really quietly. Also, if you ever want to increase your cooling performance you just need to replace the fans with faster (and louder) ones.

As for the 100MHz BCLK, this is a recommendation from intel (see here)

It is the K series, I will bear that in mind.. Maybe a good idea investing in Intels overclooking guarantee. Thing

I must say, great thanks guys for the information. I really do appreciate in helping a beginner.
I'll do. Some research on those fans, how about the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-006-CS&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat= if I push my budget?

That water cooler isnt as good as a good air cooler, if you had tall RAM sinks you may have to of got one.

Also the H80/Antec920 have much thicker radiators and twin fans for a Push/Pull configuration.

Sorry air cool is what I require?

Yea, it would be the best option IMHO.

Air Coolers (heatsink + fan) systems are generally quieter and cheaper than these fully-sealed liquid systems while providing as good or better cooling.

The ones suggested by myself and stulid are both good options and will let you overclock your CPU as high as possible while keeping temperatures under control.

IF you dont mind a huge chunk of metal in your case then yes.

If you had the taller RAM, then you would have been left with the choice of a water cooler, or selling the RAM for low-profile stuff and a air cooler.
