Haha, FF, sorry to anger you with my snooze, but it's sooooo nice
It's the mentality of it. "I'm awake, but just 5 more mins of my nice warm cacoon" then BAM, you alarm has been going on for over 20 mins!!!
Other activities... Hmmm, I ride my motorbike for long periods of time on the weekend, and it's not exactly a cruiser so can be VERY demanding and always wears me out. During the week... Only the walking really.

Haha, that's exactly how I used to be. I think you sometimes fall in to a deeper sleep after hitting snooze.
I'm with Freefaller all the way now, straight out my pit as soon as I hear the alarm.
Another technique is the old fap-snooze, always a winner. You need a decent routine(like when you were a child)
I finish the night off with 10 mins sky news downstairs then turn all the lights off use the loo climb into bed and wake up in the morning.
I have a mate who can't get to sleep at night I asked him what his routine was. He watches TV in bed for hours before switching it off rolling over and staying awake.
His body doesn't know he's trying to get to sleep.
Also follow the 20 min rule. If your not asleep in 20 mins get up go and do something for 10 mins (not a run) and reset and try again.
Your body releases melatonin when it starts to go dark but sat infront of a bright TV or monitor will delay this. Without melatonin you aint gonna sleep. So lower the lights a bit too.
IDo you do any other exercise? Maybe doing a bit of physical activity after work might help? Don't do exercise too late at night though as it'll keep you awake.
How long before you go to sleep would you recommend not using the laptop or watching telly?
And do you think there is a natural correct amount of sleep the body should be given?
I can say with some surety that I have woken up at 7am feeling refreshed and then just nodded off waiting for alarm #2 and by the time I get out of bed 40mins later I feel rough as ****.

I walk to work each day which is a round trip total of 4 miles exactly, it takes me 20 mins to walk each way.
