16:59 "unique design with dual chambers",caselabs have been doing this design for a while.

As much as i love corsair case's (have owned 3) i cant see what all the fuss is,yes it's a good case but not entirely unique is it.

Caselabs is probably better as well, but then it should be as it is much more costly.

HHHhmmmm,i think there on par as ive had a caselabs case but it did cost me £660 and the corsair is only £120 so a big price difference there.

Personally i would have the corsair at this present time as it's cheaper and in the uk.

£10 for a filter and grommet? No thanks.

I wish they'd remove the hot swap feature completely (deduct £10 from price), put 3.5" cage in with active cooling and make a white version.

The hotswap shoud stay imo, its a nice fature, but it should have been implemented differently.
Add a few inches and the whole base could have been a hot swap horizontal drive cage. Or for something a little different, hot swap horizontal drive cage with HDD's at 45deg angle, still more HDD's but fewer inches to add and might also look interesting.

IMHO I think Caselabs are deffo better quality, and much more flexible for builds. Think they are in a different market tbh. Still I must admit Corsair cases are still quality at a very good price. I still have my 650D.

I'm quite liking this and may be tempted by it for my 2nd system when it's released.
I like the hot-swap feature and don't expect I'll use more than 2 HDDs. Definately wont use all those SSDs.
I don't think you could really put HDDs in the passive side could you as constant use would mean they'd get pretty warm. Anything I don't need to be accessing a lot could go on my NAS.
Also don't IcyDock make a triple HDD hot-swap caddy that fits in 2 5¼" bays? And that has active cooling.

If you need more than 5 HDDs and 4 (?) SSDs or more 5¼" bays then maybe you should be looking at a bigger case. Doesn't seem unreasonable that the 540 offer less drive bays than something liek the 900D.

I take it that for watercooling you'd put the pump and res in the passive side? Wouldn't the pump get a bit hot with no airflow or are pumps self-cooling?

A D5 will only get hot if it has too much load to cope with.

Interesting - don't know why, but just checked mine again and it is cool. Cant think of any reason why my D5 should have too much load as it is only cooling my cpu at the moment.

I noticed it on my last build, 4 blocks & 1080, 2x360 radiators, flow was poor and the pump was quite warm to the touch, it wasn't coping so I added another d5 in series - problem solved. A single was being pushed to its head pressure limits.

People who are miffed about the fact there are only 2 x 3.5" hot swap bays - why don't you used 2.5" laptop drives instead :)

I have been using 2.5" drives in my media center for several years now as they are nice and quiet compared to the bigger 3.5" models :)

They would probably fit in the 2.5" SSD rack in the passive side as well

I think the main thing that I want to know, is how easy it is to remove all the plastic moulding, it looks like its all screwed on, which would make repainting a lot easier.. fingers crossed..

the august date is quite loose. we are expecting them soon. they have told me 12th august or around that time.

this is an estimate.
