Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

My 3 stock fans have started developing an annoying wobble/grinding noise - have checked each of them independently, and they're all doing it through the full range RPM on their fan controller. Slightly annoying :(

I get a bit of a ticking sound of the front one on mine, but ok no problems.

gfx card finally updated - 550ti > 290

thats enuff for now I think lol

Thinking about ordering one if these this week. What's some good quiet 120mm fans and a fan controller? I also need to decide if I'm keeping my Zalman CNPS9900 or if I'm going to try out one of the aio water coolers like the h100i.

Air fans : Corsair AF120
Rad fans : Corsair SP120

Best with quiet edition fans.

Controller : Lamptron FC6

Sorry for lack of links, posting from phone.

Cheers I had looked at the af fans but would have bought them for everything. Good to know to get the other ones if I get the h100i. The lamptron is out of stock annoyingly but I can always work away without a controller for a while.

I think I'm literally the only one with an Air 540 part from ColdZero at the moment since I was the one who kept asking for him to make some parts.
Best bet is to head over to the ColdZero forum and create a thread to ask him. Im sure Ricardo will be glad to help and provide a picture of the midplate.

Has anyone thought about - or actually done - a modification to the side panel of the 540 to allow an exhaust fan? My 290s dump heat into the case and the gcards run warm. I want to be able to extract heat from that region

No, but I have considered mounting a fan on/near the PCI slots to do something similar. As it is I seem to have enough flow with 3 120mm fans at the front that it vents out the back well enough naturally.

What are you thinking? 120mm fan blowing upwards/across? The front three blow air into the bottom region. It's hot because it's passed across a rad already. The 290s also blow into the case. The top and rear exhaust but my worry is that I have static air in that region

Case ordered. I'm guessing DPD will do the usual and not deliver it till Monday although it'll be in the depot tonight/tomorrow morning. At least I'm off Monday to build it anyway.
