Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

I don't really want LED's as I am going to add a seperate blue LED strip inside the case, just a subtle shine and not OTT!

I'm still leaning towards the ones I posted as they have a lot more blue in them and I don't really want to be spraying the fans.

Unless there is a benefit I am missing in going for other fans?

Alternatively there are these but again not too blue...

really? got any proof to back that up? i would be a bit disappointed if thats true! considering the cost of 2 fans!

I don't have figures right in front of me, but I've been doing push/pull for years. I've done both ways and tbh it was mostly 1c maybe 2c better at most. I got 3c using a h100i 3770k clocked at 4.5. I'm sure you can find the same figures if you Google it. So tbh it's not worth it. I only do it because it looks cool, otherwise I only use 2 fans.

from a scientific point of view the only way to cooler it more is to have cooler inlet temp to the cooler and hence a higher flow rate of air through the radiator would achieve that. by using a push pull i would say that you are forcing more through especially as the radiator gets dusty which will have higher delta P hence requiring more pressure

Jumped ship from the Obsidian 350D (M-ATX) to a 540 to for my SLI/future needs

One thing that shocked me was the noise. I have swapped the default 140 fans for the AF140 Quiet LED editions, but the overall noise is significantly more than my 350D which ran the AF120 Quiet editions, temps are significantly better I guess.

Poor little mATX board looks tiny inside hehe

The fans you get with the case are a bit on the loud side.

That's pretty much what I've just done, had an Akasa and Zalman controller sat in the loft so got one of them out.

Turns out the main source of the noise is the two front AF140s, if I drop them down to half speed then they are much much quieter. The back AF140 however doesnt make much difference in noise when at half or full speed, I guess it's something to do with the noise from the front grill taking in the air or something

Baffled lol
