Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Gents, still getting to understand this case but I have a few questions:

1.) Will the H220 fit in the top above the CPU?

Dimensions are below - basically 53.7mm thickness above the CPU. I have an issue with my current case where I lack the space and so have this sitting on top of the case at the moment.

2.) How many disk drives can this case hold and where? Fro what I can see it's only a couple! Are there brackets somewhere? I'd like to host 6 full size and one oversized SSD,

A quick fumble with a tape measure suggests that it would without an issue - a lot of people run it with the H100 with fans without an issue, which overall are about the same depth. Some people even run with 4 fans (2 push, 2 pull). Acres of space there.

Out of luck there I'm afraid - 2x 3.5" mounts in the bottom, and 4x 2.5" mounts in the back - not sure what size your SSD is but the trays take up to 9mm thickness from what I recall.

Thanks for confirming! Am now going to look into other things to add to the case :)

Sucks about the hard drive situation, only down side I can see to this case :(

Actually I guess i could use a couple of caddies in the front bays?

Also, is there an OCUK screw pack for mounting fans? I have two Thermalright fans within nothing else :)

Here what I done :)

Probably wont make any difference but couldn't you stick the gpu in the middle slot and have the sound card in the bottom pcie slot in place of the gpu?

My reason for this is temps, the 290s blow hot air into the case and top card can get very hot. With it like this both my cards temps are very good max out around 70c to 80c
And are with couple c of each other.

In other words it's like am running single GPU temperature wise.

Can someone tell me if this card will fit into the air 540 case

Powercolor Radeon R9 290 PCS+ OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

This is the one I'm thinking of but it's just the length of this one

Thanks in advance

Colin

Yeah that will fit, tbh I think every card on the market will fit this case.

Got mine built. I find the standard fans a bit too noisy but I was expecting that...because many people here said the same.

I have the fans plugged directly into the mobo.

I have heard people mention 'running then at 5v' or some such? What does this involve? I assume it makes them quieter but is it easy to do? Or am I talking jibberish and jusyt need to fork out for those nice quiet corsair ones at £15 each? (seems harsh spending almost half as much as the case itself on three fans!)

Hi All,

I have my Carbide Air 540 since around Christmas time, however, I feel that due to the hot weather I need more fans as it does get pretty toasty inside.

I was wondering if the Bitfenix recon Black would fit in this case without any issues? I really like the look of the unit, but am not sure if it would fit correctly or not, could someone pleas enlighten me on this?

how is that nzxt mesh? you think it could be plasticote'd in white to suit my 540?

I was thinking about that and some industrial noctua fans for the upcoming "stuff it with rads and fancy water things"
