** CORSAIR H2100 DOLBY 7.1 WIRELESS GAMING HEADSET 'REFURB' - ONLY £44.99

I'll put the price up a little when I'm next in the office so that you can get free next day on them. It should balance it out slightly

Anyone else wondering why there are so many of these refurbished units for sale? I'm tempted but don't want something that perhaps has a weakness somewhere.

I think the early version was plagued with problems like they wont switch on, buzzing and wont connect to the USB dongle. Have a read of the forums.

I wouldnt be surprised if they update the internals/dongle in all the returns they had to the version you buy now. Some could have been returned because the software is pants.

Got mine yesterday, took a bit of messing to get them to work with my system for some reason and I still need to manually set the default playback device to get it to swap between the Corsairs and my XonarDG, that said the sound out of them compared to my cheapo gamecom headset is such a significant upgrade I may well use them a great deal more than speakers, though comfort wise I don't think they are quite as good.

Sadly the USB extension mine shipped with is broken and all I get is a unrecognised device warning whenever I plug either the dongle or a usb stick in via it, hopefully I won't need to send the whole lot back just to get that replaced?

Just got mine :)
Have them set up on an old Win XP system to check them out..without any software added as yet. ( Didn't want to mess with my current audio set-up on my main computers until I was sure they were working )

All seems well apart from not fathomed out volume control yet. :(

Question: Is the volume selector on the headset a mechanical or software driven volume control..as although I have sound, the on headset volume control is not working....having to control it through OS control currently?

I'd imagine that is an XP limitation, it controls the volume in windows and you can see the volume slider pop up on screen as you adjust it.

Thanks for the info Dano.... :)

Will see what happens when I try them out on the Win 7 PC's then.

Edit: All hardware working as expected on a Win 7 64bit PC, including on-headset volume control. :)
Next stage is to configure some 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound software, might give the Razer Surround software mentioned earlier a try

Got mine today, couple of minor scuffs on the mic boom but nothing to worry about.

Just using the corsair software for the moment sounds pretty ok, I don't think the virtual surround is as good as my gamecom 788 but they do block outside noise much more. Will post back more details once I've had a chance to use them a little more.

Hi again - hope you are enjoying these. My volume wheel on the headset worked fine in both Win 7 and Win 10. XP? You monster....

Got Mine today, tested all working ok had to click disable enhancements under playback devices, or else the mic wouldn't work. Some images below of headset and packaging.

The corsair software is pants once the volume gets louder, it crackles all the time, I thought mine were broke, I use the razer surround software now and the difference is amazing.

Yeah should have just used that to start but I wanted to see. Sound was fine till I watched something on YouTube and could hear a tinny echo off of their voices. Swapped to Razer and that's all gone.

Edit: And the battery just died, guess I better remember to turn them off when not at the desk, been on for about 3 hours I think

Are you using the free or the pro version and if the pro is it worth the £12?

Just installed the razor software, certainly seems much clearer and a lot less silly loud, really liking these headphones :)

I'm using the pro version, Razer were giving it away for free a while ago, not sure what the difference is though as I don't change any setting apart from what device I use.

That was also going to be my question. Using free right now and wondering if it's worth the cost.

Imho its not worth using at all.In surround mode (not tried stereo) It adds roughly a 0.5 second delay to the sound as basically its processing the sound twice , if you can put up with that then it works well other than that its flawed.

No delays on my system,.
