Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

can someone with a h50 take a quick look at my thread please. Sorry can't link as on phone as usual.

For me if the h50 is as good as a true etc then i'm happy. It.s easy to fit, not a heavy jump hanging off the mobo, cheap and won't limit which ram i have to buy.

What I would love to know, is how does it perform on a heavily overvolted 775 system.
Cause apparently with watercooling you can push your components higher while maintaining a cool cpu.

Say 1.7v on a Q6600, any temps?

Cant find many details about air vs water, but one site testing waterblocks got 5c less than a TRUE. if the results are right i dont see a lot of point in hassle of water over a kit like the H50 or TRUE.

TRUE was 62c loaded and blocks close together but 57c best. on an i7 940

My temps were compared to the titan Fenrir with topped out at 86c under load with 25c ambient temps in a coolermaster cosmos case with crap airflow, now I'm topping out at 73-75c with 25c ambient in the same case. this is probably partly down to the fact that the corsair pulls air in from outside the case whereas the fenrir used hotter air in the case, but its still very impressive. Yes I could spend £300 on a custom watercooler which would outperform the corsair but the corsair is designed to compete with high end air coolers which it does admirably. Screen shots below.....

Gaidin,

Well, all I can say is I can pretty much match your temps (subject to minor variation over the cores of ~1 to 2 degC) with my own Core i7 920 D0 setup.

I am running a TRUE with two 120mm Thermalright 1600rpm (actual 1510rpm) fans in a push/pull configuration in a Coolermaster HAF 932 case at 25 degC ambient. After 5 hours Prime95 (Blend) my max core temp was 79 degC (79/78/75/75). Idle temp is 39/40 degc. This is at ~4.1GHz (195 x 121) at 1.28125v in Bios (Gigabyte EX58-UD5).

So while I am quite impressed with your results, I am not completely bowled over:cool:

I'm gonna buy a haf 932 case for better airflow as I have a cosmos 1000 and my temps are handicapped by this case. I'll post some revised temps when its all set up. I'm hopeful that increased cool air will bring them down a notch or two.

Currently running 4.2Ghz with 200x21 at 1.3v. (4Ghz is 200x20 at 1.268v.)

Guys, (Bulldog)

I have just ordered the H50 and I'm considering getting the Antec 1200, could you confirm what Fan setup on the Antec 1200 gave the best temperatures please.

Many thanks in adavance :)

Antec 1200 is a great case for keeping everything cool, but i read someone had a problem getting the side of the case on with the h50 because of the fan holder hitting the tubing or something, so had to cut it off.. not that you really need a fan there as it already comes with 6 fans.

Thanks a lot bulldog,

Looking forward to that.... So what case would get your vote for the H50 a HAF 932 or ANtec 1200 ??

I won't forget you mate. I will upload photo when I finished downloading technet windows 7 RTM. As the photo's is on my other HDD's which I had to plug into it.

No Worries Bulldog.

Has anyone experienced the problem that Perfect Chaos is descrbing with the side panel?

Here is my H50 where the fan is look like in the Antec 1200 for best cooling temperature. Removed the antec 1200 rear fan and replaced with corsair 1600RPM fan that blow toward the raditaor and blow the cold air inside.

How did it go with your H50 meds ?

Im thinking about getting this for my next build, Ive no clue about WC but an all in one seems very attractive. Ill be going for a extreme i7 and wont be overclocking. can anyone here tell me:

what temps I can expect
is the unit QUIET?

btw, can you install another fan on this unit for added cooling?
