Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

what temps I can expect.
if cpu not Overclocked would say temps around low 30's

H50 is very quiet :)

can you install another fan on this unit for added cooling
no, but if case has plenty room, add more fans there :)

Im thinking about getting this for my next build, Ive no clue about WC but an all in one seems very attractive. Ill be going for a extreme i7 and wont be overclocking. can anyone here tell me:

what temps I can expect
is the unit QUIET?

btw, can you install another fan on this unit for added cooling?

The H50 is quiet, the pump is virtually silent and the fan is quieter than most although i have added 2 apaches and now its virtually silent.
Yes you can add a second fan to the radiator for push pull see pics of my setup and temps.....

All sounds good, the two fan setup was the one I was originally looking at. So is this the one where the back fan draws air in, then the radiator, then the front fan blows air out?

Looks the more compact and positive all in one units Ive seen, so looks like a strong contender. The only problem I forsee is, with the antec p193 case, they sometimes have the rear and top fan joined together, so removing them will actually remove more than one fan.

Does anyone here know if the antec p193 case rear fan is singular or attached - OR doesnt this matter? Can I simply screw the existing antec rear fan to the h50?

Hello!

My computer is housed in a Thermaltake VA8000SWA Armour Aluminium Super Tower case and
I was wondering if the Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit will fit in this case without any problems???

Thank you for responding.

Just noticed on the review of the antec p193 that it "doesnt come with a hole for the cpu coolers retention backplate" - does the corsair h50 require this? If it does, do I physically have to drill a hole?!

you just have to remove the motherboard to fit the retention plate then replace the motherboard in the case. I have my fans taking air from inside the case and extracting it out like a normal cooler. As long as you have good airflow the temps are roughtly the same and you are not drawing hot air into the case.

Hey Bulldog,

Sorry mate didnt look at the forum until just now. I'm still waiting on my H50, I ordered it on Thursday from OCUK.

But I ordered it the 920 i7 OC Bundle with the Gigabyte UD5 Mobo, and OCUK kindly replaced the Noctuna fan with the H50 for me (I had to pay the difference :) )

I'm hoping to have it by next week sometime.

So far all I've ordered is the bundle and an Intel 160GB SSD, still cant decide on all the other parts :(

The case is the main thing that I'm hesitating on, not sure if I should just wait on the Obsidain to be released or to just go for the Antec 1200.

Thanks for the picture man, appreciate it :)

Could someone please answer my question above in post #204???

Thanks so much:)

That case is a good size and has a nice big 120mm exhaust fan - so I don't see you having many problems fitting it. You may want to change around your airflow though, as you will want the H50 fan to be an intake (for best cooling performance).

Well, my system has a 120mm and a 90mm at the back of my case, both of them exhaust fans, and I also have a 120mm
intake fan at the front of my case and a big intake fan built into my case Side Panel.

Do you know what would be the best way for me to arrange my fans in my case when using a H50???

Thank you for responding.

I have a thermaltake armor, I'm tempted to order one of these for a play about and see how well it compares to my Tuniq Tower, mainly do it just to improve the temperature and see if maybe I can get that little bit extra MHZ that the tuniq just couldnt cope with.

Hey Guys,

This goes out to the Antec 1200 owners with a H50, I came over this video on YouTube by a TJHarlow, and I was wondering if this mod would work with the H50

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=tjharlow&view=videos#play/search/14/52qf5A5l2Tc

Basically the mod involves putting a rad in the front of the Antec 1200, thing is I'm not sure if the Tubing on the H50 will be long enough to reach, or if the H50's rad will it in that space. Any comments would be great.

Thanks

Meds

The Corsair's H50 rad is only a single 120mm fan rad, the lad in the video was gonna put a much larger one in his & wasn't worried, dont think space would be a factor it'll be length of the tubing :(
You could ask one of the lads on here to measure the tubing might give you an idea if its possible :)

I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I need to know if the tubes are long enough to be streched all the way to the front of my antec 902 so the rad is getting cold fresh air and not warm air by placing it at the rear. Also if placed at the back (worse case scenario) will it cool better than a noctua NH- U12P for a 4GHz i7 overclock.

I'm tempted to get one of these, even though I've got a Prolimatech and I have no problems with temps. Just wondering, as I've got a Silverstone Fortress and the top fan is an intake fan, would I be able to use the fans on the radiator in the normal exhaust configuration? Should be plenty of cool air being supplied from the top fan. I know according to Corsair your supposed to have the rad fan as an intake but that would surely just lead to a build up of hot air in the case?

I know some ppl are using Push and pull on it, so maybe you could limit the amount of hot air going into your system via this method.

I intially plan to set it up as corsair have recommended, might change to push and pull.

Not sure if it will possible, but it would be great if the tubing is long enough to get the rad at the front of the 1200. :). I'll update you guys if no one else once I got my kit. Hopefully by the weekend.

I have this case and am going to get one of these, there's plenty of cool air being pumped into this area that isn't passing over a ton of hot components so it should be fine to have it exhausting. One of the strengths of the Fortress is the very good temps in the CPU area.
