Corsair K70 keyboard

Been using mine for around a week now and here's my impressions...

First of all the build quality is second to none, the overall feel is very much premium (Which you'd expect given it's price). The quality of the plastics are great and the keys have shown no wear in the last week with heavy use - Time will tell if this changes though. The cable braiding and connectors feel great too, overall it's hard to see any corners being cut with quality of materials used. The styling is fantastic but you can tell that from pictures, it looks just as good in the flesh.

My previous keyboard (Qpad Mk-85 with red switches) feels cheaper made and the keys have a less of a clack and more of a click than the K70 (Which to me indicates poorer quality plastic key caps). The feel of the keys when bottoming out is less harsh on the K70 and the overall sound is nicer.

The backlighting is much closer to a 'Blood' red than the MK-85, which was more of an Orangey-Red. Here is where I come to a niggle though, the non-mechanical keys (Media keys, LED mode/brightness and Windows button lock) all light up far dimmer than the mech keys. In fact the backlight on those keys is barely visable in daylight compared to the mech keys.

Another issue I am having is with the F row keys, they are much closer to the number row than most keyboards. So I am finding myself hitting F11/F12 when using backspace for example. It's something I will get used to and am really just nit-picking at things!

Overall love the thing, nothing is perfect but this is pretty damn close.

I've have mine for over a week and it's flawless. Best Keyboard I've ever used in my life! This is one bad ass board. Worth every penny I spent on it:D

Nice review mate. Nice to see everyone enjoying it. Still holding off for the K95. Out of stock on OCUK with no ETA. Tempted to go to another retailer if I'm honest.

I am glad to announce that my keyboard has been successfully exchanged. I am typing this on a perfectly functioning K70, thanks for the help and feedback!

Wow, that's pretty quick. Happy to hear that everything is working now as intended.

Looks like a lot good feedbacks here, I'd like to hear more user experience about the K70. I just got mine today, so I guess I have to see it for myself and see how great it is

Different switch types on their way...

Nice find! I was on that earlier but never went to the bottom!
That has actually made it worse for me as now I dont know if I want to go with Browns or Reds. Anyone got any tips or things I should know to make my decision easier?

Depends if you type or game more? Reds for gaming, Browns for mixed/more typing IMO. I do prefer the brown switch overall and kind of wish I'd waited a little longer, they might not be shipping for a few months yet though.

Typing as in writing a novel and you learned to type on a typewriter.

Reds are better than a normal keyboard by a country mile for general typing, day to day stuff and are excellent for gaming.

Ah, looks like Reds will do. Most id type up would be a few thousand words for essays etc. (student).
Spend that 40% of the time just browsing the web.

Thinking of buying a K70. What's the size of the Return key?
In the images its the smaller type. I'm assuming this is the US board? Is the UK a double height key like on the Filco's?

Few phone pictures, including the spacebar after I reversed it.

Pretty sure it should be like that from the factory and mine was just wrong?

I reversed the entire bottom row on a K70 RBG after seeing this, including cursor arrows. Feels miles better.
