I've emailed the guy and left him a voicemail!
Thanks for confirming my thoughts regarding the car, from memory the only thing I disliked about scoobs was their ability to chomp through tyres, the 380HP it makes is fine and its supported by well chosen mods, its not just a bleed valve and a prayer :)

What sort of power was your old one making Will?

And Ben, what are the differences between the 22B and P1 then?

278hp, thats what it RR'd at but I used 1.10 bar at the RR and used to run it upto 1.20 so around 300 I reckon, my old one was nice but this one is the model I always wanted, to me 2.5 litres seems a lot more capable of safe power delivery - the only problem I have with this possible new car is there is very little for me to do to it :(

New dump valve is a must, HKS supersound would be the first thing I bought and maybe 6 pot brakes, but I should confirm I'm actually buying the car first of all :p

Do it will, looks like a really good one

Is there no way you couldent buy your old one back :(

Sam

hehe no, its got 178k on the clock now, the kid who owns it (in newquay) loves it, not had one major problem and aside from services and trye changes reckons he has spent less than 500 quid keeping it running, wonder how many other highly tuned sportscars could say the same at such huge mileage :D

I used to live in Cornwall so when I go back there on hols I pop over to newquay and he tarts around in it every night, still looks sweet :)

personally i'd buy a sports car, but that looks decent for the money.

if you have some sick scooby addiction (then i feel for you :p) but buy it all the same

like what?

I've owned

a boxster (fair enough its was the 2.7 tosh)
s2000 (haha sports car :p)
supra x2 (n/a and tt)
celica st180 and GT
exige
audi quattro turbo
etc..

The list is endless and the subrau was by far in relfection the best car, and its cheap as chips for the performance you get, why bother blowing 30k on some modern tat when I can have a timeless classic, yeah loads of kids have em, but to a purist its incredibly easy to tell a lemon from a rose :D

spoke to the guy, nice bloke, he has one firm offer but that depends on the other guy selling his current car and getting a loan for the difference, Phil will tell me on thursday whether the other guy is going ahead with it, if not I'll shove a grand in his bank for deposit and pay the difference when I arrive back in the UK, so cross your fingers for me please :D

you know the score mate.
never lose sleep over the car you didn't buy as a better one is ALWAYS around the corner.
happy hunting.

<coughevo8cough>

haha :p

you are right, I had my heart set on that badboy, it will be another scoob - I know them inside out and can happily take one apart, putting it back together is another matter :D

:(

Gutted for you, looked so good too..

Don't be too upset though, there's plenty about, DRB5's looks good, although not a Type R.

Needs new Synchro's, but that's a good excuse for a 6 speed

maybe ill get a p1, i want 2 doors, and the engine on dbr5's look gash, bah im wallowing, really wanted that car....

dark side is right I shall have to find new beast to lust after :D

15k is bit rich, this is only a second car so no need to cripple myself :p

12k ish is the name of the game, just looked at evo's but as pointed out by 6thE they need servicing every 8 minutes so cant be arsed with that. I have two weeks till I get back so hopefully someone will sell their Type R between now and then (btw type R doesnt mean a super stressed honda)

ive found a couple of other scoobs, one is owned by a mate of a mate, its currently covered in the most stupid plastic addon crap, he has agreed to sell the useless stuff and leave me with the decent spec car underneath, the other alternative is another TypeR but I'm checking out the engines history first before speaking with the owner.

http://www.scoobynet.com/showthread.php?t=499653 - thats the tat mobile

I would remove the vent on the roof, bonnet, the lights, the rear spoiler and the steering wheel, im indifferent about the wheels I still have some 17" P1 rims in my garage from years ago so could shove them on, who knows, but underneath the bolt on crap that car has a serious spec including 6 pots which I have always craved (dunno why)

so thats my new choice for the time being, what do you guys think?

oh I would buy a FMIC for it too, apart from that money would be spent on the ICE and little else :)

worst case I could paint the spoiler, as you remember I had a carbon bonnet on my last scoob so thats realy not putting me off, the wheels im not massively offended by, but as they are 19"s and knowing how quickly scoob go through rubber I could need a second mortgage to pay for the tyre costs alone :)

the more I look at the car the more I know it will look lush in standard livery, as for the interior once the old steering wheel is in place I think I'll really like it, I craved masses of defi dials on my old model. and the rest of the interior is pretty tame, loving the knock link and lambda setup.

anyone care to photoshop it so I can see how it should look :P

having a look now, as its got 6 pots it needs at least 17 maybe 18's

dial wise I might tame down the A pillar to a single unit, I used to have AFR there on my old beast might relocate boost there and have the other essentials in the middle, remainder of the dials can be binned on stealthed in the glove box.

hmm im keen again, just need to find wheels
