Could you hack prison?

I would complain about the food saying its against my human rights to eat it and can only eat food cooked by top chefs from the Savoy (more than likely win that one and be moved in to the Savoy) Would also slip on the floor and say one of the guards said I was nasty (sue him) claim ££££££££ in damages

I certainly couldn't hack it... I'm too much of an outdoors person; and I very much doubt they will let me fish through the iron bars into the surrounding moat!!....

:p

The complete loss of freedom, poor food, tiny space, regime etc etc I could all deal with as severe punishment. However, there is no way I could possibly cope with the 'bent' side of things- (no not the showers) but the crooked guards, the violence, the 'bad/hard' hierarchy.

I would try to keep myself to myself but I imagine that doesn't work like planned!#

p.s. A series of stories from you Malc would be a great read- I suggest a blog page which you can send us, and whoever else you choose, a link to read. :) pleeeeeeeeease! :)

Most of my friends and my brother have been to prison and 1 close friend has spent more time behind bars than out of them. I've never been but this was only out of luck really, I have been in 6 other institutions which was not easy also. I have visited lots of jails on visits and even been banned from one many years ago. Most of them have always said jail is easy, and only hard if you want to be a face.

Like Malc30 I've turned my life around now and also my friends. My friends today all use there experience of jail to help other people and all work in the support field. Prison can be a bad thing but it can also do what it is intended to do and that's make people think about where they want to go in life. :D

I once starting to write a book on my life (after people said I should) but after the 4th page it got to much as it took me back to place's I left behind and didn't want to revisit them again.

I can't believe on a computer forum, no one made a corny joke about needing a powerful computer to hack prison. Well, I just made one. So there.

I don't think I've ever heard so much tosh in my life, you lot (with the exception of a small number) really have no clue whatsoever.

Easily, since they have accommodation comparable to Butlins :D
This is just media reported nonsense, you really should know better. You think its like Butlins because you actually believe the nonsense you read in the papers - but I bet you couldn't handle it.

They deserve as little taxpayers money as possible and to be degraded as much as posssible, if you end up in jail, you are there to be punished, first and foremost.
This is complete and utter rubbish. The punishment is being seperated from your loved ones, being unable to do what you want when you want, having to live your life to the systems' rules and timetable. Not being able to go home at the end of the day. Degradation is not part of the plan and if you think it should be then you are the kind of person who probably deserves some time behind bars - might teach you a thing or two.

he just chose one of the meanest looking blokes in the place, walked up to him and beat the living **** out of him in front of a lot of people.
Complete Tosh - old wives tale that everyone who's ever been to prison and wants to make out they are hard tells people.

I really can't believe some of the stuff you people come out with sometimes.

However to reply to the OPs post, if you had to go to prison then I suspect you would survive.

How? - easy you keep your head down, try to get on with most people, stay away from the idiots, don't show off or try to be the big man and just do your time as easily as possible - just like most people inside are doing.

I couldn't handle the showers, not for being scared of being raped, I just don't like getting naked in front of loads of people. I think I'd just have to sponge bath myself in my cell using the little sink. Plus I reckon the whole thing would be a breeze if I was allowed to drink. :p

Went to visit my mate in Strangeways last month and he seems to do exactly what he spent his days doing outside, smoking weed and playing on the ps2.

People definately overhype prison, it's like anywhere, 99% of people are harmless and just hope you don't get on the wrong side of 1% which is easy if you have half a brain.

I'd expect that the rate of dangerous people to harmless people is slightly higher in a prison than anywhere else. Don't know where I've got that crazy idea from though....

After seeing a documentary on a Scottish prison(anyone else see it? Can't remember the name) and seeing the attitudes and level of violence found on a daily basis...I doubt I'd hack it. Full of violent, mindless chavs that have no concern for their own welfare and are too messed up(with drugs or otherwise) to know the difference between right or wrong.

Boys Behind Bars at Polmont?

Was brilliant!
