Could you hack prison?

Education, Opportunities, Work.

And this is exactly the kind of prejudice I am talking about. For your information anyone with a criminal record can produce a document from the police stating the details of their crimes.

Companys can ask for this when employing ex-offenders and satisfy themselves that the person in question is genuine in their efforts to go straight and make a life for themselves.

But if the opportunity to put this kind of scheme into action arose, with employers around the country being able to participate and do something to help solve the "crime epidemic" the tabloids would have us believe exists and people like you thought it was too much hassle to do and/or put it down at every opportunity then what chance would people have to make amends for their crimes, go straight and contribute to society instead of feeding off it?

You see, society's attitude to criminals can and does have a bearing on how much crime there is out there.....

There are those things. The first one is even compulsory for everyone until they are 16... What do you mean by give them education, opportunities and work? I don't really see where you are going with it.

I personally don't think I'd take the risk of hiring someone who has been to prison. Don't really want to deal with watching them to see if they are stealing all the time... There is a reason for the prejudice against them.

8-12 weeks, not a problem, would take me that long to get round all the friends and family that are currently guests of her majesty at the Riddrie Hilton(HMP Barlinnie for the non weegies) you have a pretty easy ride if you keep your nose clean, plenty of amenities educational opportunities and if you really are a scrote plenty of new contacts to make. Anyone whos been inside will tell you its not the place or people its the loss of your freedom thats the hard part having your routine dictated to you is no fun at all. but apart from that its not as bad as people think.

Lets say you were on an extremely drunken night out and did something uncharacteristic which landed you in court, and the judge decided to make an example out you and sent you down (lets say for the sake of argument for 8-12 weeks or so) do you reckon you'd be able to cope?

And for those who have already been inside, or have friends/relatives who have, then - tips? :D

And no, I'm not in trouble with the law, but I've often wondered how I would cope in such a situation.

Not be inside but have done 3 days on cop shop (not realy nice)

Yes i could coupe with open or med not high

but its hard i missed the wife and kids so much when i was locked of for 3days (nicked saturday night stright in court monday morning so ok 2 and a bit days)

*I wanted to do some play-on-words joke about being 1337 and hax00r0zing my way out of prison, but I failed * :(

No, I couldn't handle it though.. I'd end up fighting with someone over a little thing.

OK I'll lead you further then.

Why - if educations is compulsory are well over half the population of prisons illiterate?

Not everyone who has been to prison is a thief, or even a bad person.

Everyone deserves a chance at redemption.
