Well if they put it to court and you did not appear you would have been found guilty no questions asked I would have said.
We do not have issues with other people putting refuse in other peoples bins, we have not given residents bins so they still use bags. Think I have had one report in 3 years which we jumped on right away.
But my honest opinion is that these Councils that give people a 2 weekly collection on refuse and give them a stipid box to put recycling in ask for trouble.
Its all about money, I bet those that went to a 2 weekly collection have not seen a reduction in Council tax at all. We stand to save £500,000 a year by going to a two weekly refuse collection, the government give us £300,000 a year for recycling which is pants considering the amount we recycle sme 40% of the waste we collect is recycled.
The other side of the coin is that if we do not cut down the landfill directive will mean Councils pay more for landfill and I am sure they wont pay it out of funds it will come via Council tax, the worse thing is recycling is so dam easy but people just tend to be lazy and some of the problems need to be thrown back to the manafactures of food.
