I'm sure there isn't as many hackers as I think there is, but now, when someone is just having a really good day, the thought the might be cheating just ruins the enjoyment.

I do hope they can do something properly to stamp it out, but I feel like it's such a cash cow for them, that they don't really mind that much.

That plus everyone knows Gaben's baby is DOTA, been to like every major since it's release, hasn't been to a CS event in years and years :cry:

Same boat, started in 99/2000 and haven't played now for a couple of years other than popping on to confirm it's still riddled with cheats, not even just someone having a good day just blatant cheats with everything known to man turned on.

I still can't bare to uninstall it, this game and it's earlier iterations were life for me for years, I know I'm too slow to be top tier now but I should be able to play and have some fun without being shot before I can buy my gear lol.
 
I've been toying with picking this up again recently having barely played since CS2 released - sounds like it's still a mess in terms of cheaters then?

Such a shame, when you get a really good game, closely matched teams, collaborative team mates, there simply isn’t a better experience in gaming, but the fact that will happen in what, one in 10,000 games these days?

Uninstalled earlier this year and promised myself I won’t bother again until there’s some big announcement definitively saying that hackers are 90% gone.

Not going to happen unfortunately vac anti cheat has always been terrible dating back in the cs1.6 days there is still online websites offering lifetime subscription to ESP for £36 for CS2 claimed to have never been vac detected and in all honestly I believe that.

Counter strike source I remember this well they was a texture cheat that turned all walls / doors see through like being in a greenhouse it took vac valve over 18 months to detect and ban that.

Issue is the game is free so if someone gets banned they can just go create a new steam account and play again so the anti ban system is a waste at times.

Granted they will loose their progress and rank etc

I've got it installed and just play with randoms at times
