Couple of Corolla T-Sport questions!

Is it just me, or does the fuel gauge go past the first half very quickly, then it creeps another quarter, and then the last quarter lasts ages?

I've never had a car with a fuel guage that works linearly. When it's close to empty pull over and put some juice in it - don't fret it otherwise

Bottom of the tank wider than the top, so the float takes longer to move the further you go down

I can get 200 miles from the top half of my gauge, then 90 miles from the bottom :P

Congrats on the new purchase! About damn time!

You lot are doing it wrong, you should only half the last half full at all times, don't you know anything about the extra weight you're carrying?

God.

Corolla fuel gauge behaves exactly as you describe

That makes me feel a bit better. For a moment I thought I had somehow used three quarters of a tank incredibly quickly... :p

Just topped up and put 37 litres in, which suggests that the final "quarter" is around 18 litres. Will see how many miles I do until the fuel light, and compare with what the fuel computer says to see how accurate it is. :)

Fuel computer is showing an average of 29MPG since I picked it up now.

Priceless reactions. :D

Tyres and new number plates are here. As is the headlight resto kit, and the filters, and the number plate tape. :)
