Covers that are better than the original?

I've got this far without listening to the **** factor version and i don't intend to stop now...

Wait, John Cale = 'Shrek' Version? That's what comes up on youtube. I still prefer Leonards :)

I have a live version of his song :) I'm happy to send it to you if you want to add me on msn. (drop me an email)

I was unfortunate enough to hear some of the covers that show is pumping out :( They're slowly killing music.

Meh, i might but that would mean booting into Windows 7... i'm in Linux and i use Pidgin, which i don't think supports file transfers. Thanks for the offer though.

Listened to it on the tube and i still prefer the Coh-meister's version. That really doesn't work does it? :p

It's a fantastic live copy ;) if you ever fancy a listen ( as I don't think it's the same as the youtube one) just drop me an email ( and I'll send you my msn details ) :)

No it didn't work :p

[This Mortal Coil's "Song To The Siren"]
Nice, though I prefer Half Man Half Biscuit's irreverent radio session version - especially the ending ;)

[Bauhaus' "Third Uncle"]
Didn't even know this was a cover

Just compared it with the original, and yup: Bauhaus did it better; a tough thing for me to say, as I never rated them. Good call :)

Michael buble - crazy little thing called love

Oh hell no, you can't say that his rendition of "Cwazy wittle fing called wuv" as he pronounces it is better than the original. For shame. For. Shame.

As for my own proclamations - Muse - Feeling good, Muse - Can't take my eyes off you, Korn - Word Up, Hendrix - All along the watchtower all get my vote.
