COVID-19 (Coronavirus) discussion

And it finally got me. Very sore head, out of breathe, can’t concentrate, uneasy on my feet.
Didn’t sleep a wink last night. Eugh.

You just carry on spreading it around. Well done.
I'll speak up so you can hear it up there on your high horse....

I was on holiday in the middle of nowhere with a mild sniffle, no access to testing, minimal contact with anyone else, which cleared up before I travelled home. I almost certainly caught it from sitting in massive crowds of unmasked people in the airport, or on the plane, on the way there.

My other half had symptoms this past week, and stayed at home the whole time. I work from home. So neither of us have been spreading it around anywhere.

Yeah sorry, you have my apologies, not sure what else you could have done.

If I cared that much, I would buy a test. That's why I'm just asking on a computer forum.
Sure, because asking medical questions on an internet forum and expecting definititve answers from armchair experts is a brilliant idea.

Yes you probably have it/had it. No, no-one can be certain because you're too stubborn to get a simple test which would answer your question instead you'd rather waste your time arguing with people on an internet forum.

Myself and my partner both had covid a few months back. Symptoms were a fierce burning sore throat for days, followed by a cough that lingered for about a month.

In the last couple of weeks we've both had an illness, a mild sore throat, followed by a few days of sinuses leaking like a tap, but no cold symptoms, fever or anything. Felt completely fine apart from the bloody snot deluge.

One of the new variants? Just symptomatic of a recent re-infection?
Had the same symptoms and tested neg. Had ten days of antibiotics with a throat infection

Last time I flew, I applied Vaseline below my nostrils and applied saline nasal spray every hour. Didn’t get a cold or sniffles a few days after. As the atmosphere of a plane cabin dries the nostrils making you prone to colds etc.

Perhaps try this next time

Okay Mr grumpy pants, it's Friday, relax.

I'm not looking for definitive answers to anything, I'm just curious if anyone had the same quite particular symptoms recently. Alas it isn't stubbornness stopping me taking a test, but the lack of prescience or a time machine to make sure I had tests with me several weeks ago when I was in the middle of nowhere and had the symptoms.

Did you fly west or stay within the union?

Interesting to walk into the local doctors surgery today for a blood test to find that masks are no longer compulsory, so nobody was wearing them. Except, the doctors, the nurses, the receptionists behind a screen...

Still signs at my GPs saying masks should be worn covering mouth and nose. As I was leaving earlier this week after a blood test, receptionist asked a woman to pull her mask up. She moaned that she struggles to breathe in the mask. The mask was a blue disposable surgical one. I find these ones the worst imo.

Don’t understand why people wear masks on their chins. Either wear a mask properly or don’t. People wearing masks on their chins look stupid.
