****CRACKING deal on 4GB 8500 Kits from Kingston @ £39.99 Inc****

you 2 guys might wanna look at memset to set the sub timings a bit tighter to get some more speed out of your ram, http://www.tweakers.fr/memset.html

im running my sticks at 950mhz @ 5-5-5-16 @ 2.1v (2x2gb kingston and 2x2gb of transcend jetram) wont go higher than that as my transcend is only rated for 1.8v but the system wont run stable at 1000mhz with all 4 sticks even though i know the transcend runs at 1000mhz all day long.

heres what i score

EVEREST Memory Benchmark from version 5.01:

Memory Read score: 8686MB/s

Memory Write score: 9952MB/s

Memory Copy score: 8529MB/s

Memory Latency score: 58.8 ns

I take it the reason why both you guys are geting higher scores even when on lower speeds is because you are running 8GB and therefore means add up to higher score on benchmarks???

no, my scores are now even lower due to the lower speed, i used to run at 1000mhz before i got this 4gb of kingston.

chances are your sub timings are way out, mine were when i tried to run at 1066mhz. any chance you can post a screenshot of memset?

My sub timings are all set on auto in the bios because i'm not sure what they should be set on, so is that probably the reason for such a low score at 1107MHz with timings of 5-5-5-13???

Here is a screenshot of my timings on MemSet:

thats strange as mine are mostly higher than yours, refresh period is probably why.

EDIT, just set all mine to the same timings as yours exept refresh period, thats not listed in mine but it all depends what settings are in bios for your ram and performance, 8 is the lowest mine will go before it bluescreens. benchmark results are more or less the same except for a 200mb increase in copy speed.

the refresh period must be the one causing the hit.

EDIT, I've just noticed if i set my refresh period on a higher number on MemSet i get a higher score on EVEREST.

I thought it would be the other way around, lower number means higher score???

Refresh Period set on 16383T

EVEREST Read score: 8335MB/s

try messing about with the multi's and raising your fsb some more to see if it helps. i get weird refresh period timings when my fsb is 300-400. im currently at 475 x8.5.

I`m not sure of changing the multiplier. If i change it from the default for my cpu witch is x11, windows and other programs can`t detect my proper speed i have set, windows sees my cpu speed at 4.40 GHz, only CPU-Z is able to detect my proper speed witch ive set at 3.80 GHz - is this anything to worry about??? One thing ive noticed since changing multiplier, my EVEREST Read score is now at: 8534MB/s at DRAM speed of 1066MHz

Hi,.. I am OVERCKLOCKING MY E8500 & 4gb KINGSTON
ram is on 562mhz according to CPU-Z 562+562=1124MHZ total

How do you think, do I leave volts on 2.2v or increase?..as on stick it says up to 2.3v
do I leave timings at 5-5-5-15?

I think can't get stable system when OC!..
Cheers
