Cramp omg

Not sure how people get cramps so much! I had one cramp i the bottom of my foot once and that was years ago, my whole life. What does a cramp mean? Not enough exercise?

The opposite usually. If you don't get cramp, you're not exercising enough. ;-)

Waking with cramp is dire, but it's worse IMO when you wake up and lie there puzzled for a few moments, wondering why you've woken up. Then you realise your calf aches and... OMG, the cramp monster's coming and there's *NOTHING* you can do about it! Just grit your teeth and try not to scream like the proverbial girl.

I'm going to have nightmares now. :-)

Used to get them in my foot when I was younger but then started getting them in the calf, really annoying they are waking up in pain!

Been cramp free for around a year now :D

Worst cramp I've ever had suddenly appeared in my Ab's while ****** in a club! It's not nice :( longest 3 hours of my life!

That doesn't sound like cramp to me, more like a potential kidney stone or something similar. (Apparently that's the closest we men ever get to experiencing pain similar to childbirth).

Nice to have something to look forward to. :-)

When I was about 14 we had a school trip to some RAF course thing. I went round it as fast as I could. 5 minutes later I was walking with my class and I just dropped to the ground. Didn't have a clue what was happening but assumed I had been kicked in the back of my leg. Then the RAF dudes came over helped me walk on one leg. Then my other leg gets cramp and I cant move both of my legs.

I don't know what was more embarrassing. Having the class laughing at my pain or having them laugh at me as 2 RAF dudes massage my legs.

once played football all day with friends, for about 7 hours actually playing, that night i was constantly getting cramp in my legs, its was horrible because i was fast asleep and suddenly just awoke in pain, with cramp in both legs. Very painful.

But from the same article :
"The less fit we are, the more likely we are to suffer from cramp" ;)

But from the same article :

"Who?
Common in most athletes, especially long distance runners and tennis and football players."

I take your ;-) and raise it by one :-D

I've never seen a darts player fall over with cramp, but I've seen plenty of footballers (not just Ronaldo) and runners do so. I know from my own experience that I never had cramp as a weedy asthmatic kid in the pre-ventolin era. I couldn't exercise enough to get it. :-)

But after getting a physically active job in which I often work for 8 hours without a break, I quite often (though not regularly) get cramp while sleeping after a particularly hard shift. I think that comes under the heading self inflicted.

:p but athletes suffer cramp while exercising, the unfit suffer cramp out of nowhere ;)

I was lying in bed one night and yawned and I got the worst cramp I've ever had in my neck/throat, literally agony, I couldn't get rid of it. When it finally went my neck was like strained, aching all the next day. It wasn't nice I tell you that.

I can cramp my toe if i want to :p
But cramp in legs = horrible

People look so weird suddenly going ARGGHHHHH CRAMPPP! and jumping around

....does anyone else think the word "cramp" is really strange? haha

I have just jumped out of bed my calf muscle fully cramped. hit the deck for 2mins with a tear in my eye and my leg is still sore to touch :(

seriously their has to be no other pain that is soo random and that can bring a tear to your eye so easily I hate them with a passion.

Anyone else here suffer these..keeping you awake.

(not medical assistance just sharing my displeasure)

I feel your pain dude - we've all been there and its ******* agony !

Could be worse tho - you might have to go in to work tonight ;)

absolute worst cramp in the world:

when you yawn and you get a cramp in the back of your chin/top of the neck area.
Not only is it a serious pain but you look like an absolute fool as well when you get it :D

I got woken up at 3AM on Thursday with one in my calf, and it's still sore today.

Has anyone ever gotten a cramp under their tongue? Now thats pain!

edit: just saw ojste's post. Thats what I get sometimes when I yawn :(

the pain is unreal. I get it in my calf ( post night out ). The feeling you get as it shoots up your muscle before it locks up is horrific lol.

edit: sometimes i feel like a shooting pain up to my neck, ive always prevented it from happening but i cant imagine what the pains like!

double edit: actually i get it in my toe as well... that is painful.
