**CRAZIEST SSD DEAL YET: 120GB SSD ONLY £43.99 Inc. VAT! (SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!)**

This looks like it was strategically placed after the 240gb offer ;) If i hadn't got one of those, missed it, or not even seen it, i would have bought one of these no question!

I've got to say the vertex 2e is still good compared to current "budget" SSDs.

I've no idea on raw benchmark numbers but my current PCs used fairly frequently contain a 60gb vertex 2e, 120gb Kingston SSDNow v+200 and a 256gb plextor on offer here a month or two ago.

All 3 PCs use the SSD as a boot drive and the vertex still feels the fastest despite being much older. It's what I have in my main rig over the others.

Quick Question; Does free shipping not apply to Pre-order products? I can't find the official thread on it and I've connected my forum account with my OCuK account and there's no free shipping option with this SSD.

I just added it to my cart to check, an i get the free shipping option, so i don't see why you wouldn't :S
Are you logged in at the top while you are in the checkout?

Yeah I am. I just checked it with a DVI cable and that had the option and then tired again with a CPU and that didn't. Guessing free shipping to the Isle of Man is limited :(.

would this drive have plenty of space for win7 64-bit and a few games like bf3/wow ?

just wondering, as i am definitely getting one as part of my upgrades.

I have an Agility 3 60gb drive and am considering replacing it with this for windows boot drive. Is this slower than the agility 3 as a boot drive?

Hi there

Guys some key points as to why you really need one of these:-

  • This is the 2E model, much higher quality components, I've checked our history, 1644 units sold and only 28 units back faulty. Sub 2% failure which is in line with Intel and Samsung.
  • The performance improvement for any desktop or laptop over a 7200rpm HDD is night and day, remember SSD have 0.1ms access time.
  • These are the peak of SATA2 performance, they offer close to 300MB Read/Write on SATA3 and outperform a lot of modern SSD drives.
  • 120GB is more than big enough for Win7/Win8 O.S. with Office with ample space to spare for games, photos etc.
  • Price, simply unbelievable, cheapest in the UK for a 120GB SSD and this is still a top performance drive.
  • Limited quantity, we only have 1400 units, once gone OCZ have no more and we've sold 400+ over night.
  • Just buy it, I mean £40, thats like the amount you generally carry in your pocket!
  • One more thing - BUY NOW!!! :D :D :D

Buying a 2E is like buying a toggle flash 2nd gen... It was "the best" of its generation and in day to day usage terms you wont notice a difference between this and an agility 3..

Despite its lower headline numbers it is probably a much more solid all rounder..
