**CRAZIEST SSD DEAL YET: 120GB SSD ONLY £43.99 Inc. VAT! (SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!)**

yes you hit the nail on the head, so a bit a joke really what was the point of that plus disappointed as been with overclockers since they formed ok i dont use the forums much, but was bugging why i was let down when i kept logging in that it said we email you when in stock so i tried days on end to get the offer

But this was a "PRE ORDER" deal mate. And at that price, you were always going to be disappointed if you waited for stock to land.
Why didn't you just pre-order?

Try getting in touch with o.c tell them what you did and they might offer you one at original price.

This guy has hit the nail on the head I'm afraid; when you see a great offer if you don't jump on it then someone else will!

Lesson learned, do make the same mistake next time ;)

I'm sorry Darren, but this isn't OCUK stinging you. Any web pre-order deal requires you to place an order before the stock arrives, hence the term "pre-order". Maybe you misunderstood what a pre-order was?
However you look at it, a statement of enquiry is in no way an order.

thanks for that i no for next time ring them as well thanks for your help

Why would you need to ring them? Just order it when the deal goes up and wait for it. The pre-order deal is there so OcUK can sell the majority of the stock before it lands. You pay a nice price, you wait for stock, you get the deal. It ain't that complicated.

Mine arrived today (living in the Northern Isles usually adds a couple of extra days onto postage times), looking forward to installing it later and seeing what it can do!

Got mine at the end of last week,120 & 60gig drives...dropped the 60 gig in my 15" 2010 MacBook Pro and the 120 in my rig and they both fly,Installed then updated firmware without a hitch thanks OCUK! :)

Well, got my replacement today, which was nice. Unfortunately, it would seem I have a second dead drive :( Same symptoms in two machines. Bios takes forever to load, when you finally get it it's not recognised. Windows doesn't see it. Neither does OCZ toolbox.

Third time lucky maybe? :(

hi it said email to preorder which i did but no reply

Let's put this to bed. :p

It said in bold it was a "pre-order", and next to it it actually said "(Email me when in stock)."
So you chose to be emailed when it was in stock and missed out.

You misread it and missed out, that's all. No need for bitchy comments like:

thanks for that i no for next time ring them as well thanks for your help

No, you don't need to "ring them as well thanks for your help" . You just need to order.

Simples. :D

Just thought I would throw in my comments to try and strike a happy balance between positive and negative. I bought three of these, for the first time in my life I didn't miss out whilst deliberating, I just ordered them as soon as I saw the pre-order go up. I have upgraded the firmware from 1.35 to 1.37 on all using the OCZ toolbox running in windows, couldn't have been easier. Based on being able to upgrade the firmware I'm assuming all three work. I have used one so far to replace my wife's laptop drive and the performance difference is huge and has given it a new lease of life. I also want to say thanks to whoever it was who recommended Easeus Todo free earlier in the thread. I used this to clone the Vista drive from the laptop. This software worked perfectly migrating from a HDD to SDD. The laptop drive was not aligned for SSD use (you can check this using AS SSD benchmark) But you simply tick the "optimise for SSD" box in Easeus and it will fix the alignment during the cloning operation. I put the new drive in the laptop fired it up and all working, very happy so far.

Just restoring an image from my Time Machine onto my 1Gen White Macbook.

Seems to be going OK thus far. Got 111Gb after formatting to MacOS and this should extend the useable life of my creaking Mac for not a lot of £££.

Update later.

Got another to go into Wifey's P3 PC rig.
