Ordered 2 drives, both came with 1.35 firmware, updated to 1.37 without any issues. Both drives show up as 107.1GB in my computer.

Did a fresh install of Win 7, Office and Steam on one, really amazed at the boot times. Around 20 secs boot vs 70+ seconds on my Samsung F3 1TB, which I'm now using as a data drive for documents, media etc. Shutdown is virtually instant too ^^

Followed this guide for tweaks: http://www.tech-forums.net/forums/f128/ssd-tweak-guide-236563/

Tried going into and out of sleep mode, no problems. There is also a "System Reserved" drive (100MB) that shows up in my computer when I have both the SSD and the Samsung F3 1TB connected. If I disconnect the Samsung drive, the reserved drive disappears. Did some googling and apparently I can hide this reserved drive in disk management.

Anyway really pleased overall, now I need to install Vista on the other SSD for my brother's PC. I'll report back soon.

So you have the slower Drives but still should run very well.

Chippy could you clarify a bit about what you mean regarding slower drives? Are these drives not all the same?

Both my drives have the model number OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G. I've not had a chance to run benches yet.

Edit: just seen the link you posted, thx.

Dropped the first of my two into my PS3, happily it solved the issues I was having before (though I might have been able to solve that with a disk reformat or game wipe and reinstall, I'd wanted to toss an SSD in there for giggles anyway).

Still not entirely certain where I'm going to deploy the other one, tempted to persuade my company to let me pop it into my laptop, otherwise it's going into one of my PCs or another PS3 that looks possible to appear in the near future.

Looks like OS/controller/general rest of system has bigger impact on the drive than I thought.

This is the result from a 107gb drive in a HP Probook 4330s running Windows 7.

And the same 107gb drive in a Dell Precision M6300 running Vista.

Very very happy!
My lappy was nearly in the bin recently, but this has given it a much needed lease of life.
Boots in 35 seconds and runs like a dream now!

All for the price of an evening in the pub!

Sorry about the size.

£43 for an evening in the pub!?!?!!?

Most people seem to be getting high access time on the write of 0.2xx ms, I'm getting around 0.080ms.

Looks like mine is DOA as well. I've never bought OCZ because of the issues they have had in the past. I got this because the price was good, but I should have known better, what an idiot. Installed the drive, and Windows 7 takes 3+ minutes to boot now instead of 30-40 seconds, and once it does boot the OCZ drive is not shown in the disk management section of computer management. Device manager strangely shows a USB device that cannot start, and this can only be the OCZ drive because there was nothing there before. I had a Kingston SSD in the box before and it worked fine. All I did was power down, remove that and plug the OCZ in instead.

Check for the red/orange light when it's powered on. Mine did exactly the same as yours, replacement is due on Monday.

Yep, just done an RMA webnote. Unlucky perhaps, but I should have known better. I broke my golden rule about not buying OCZ and paid the price with a DOA product. Will they refund instead of sending a replacement ?

With the upgrades i got, I was thinking time to use Win7 64bit instead of Win7 32bit.

The way I am saying this, is I have Win XP Home Prem 32bit, and Windows 7 Home Prem Upgrade (came with 32 and 64bits).

So I had to install XP then upgrade Win7 32bit over it.

By doing it this way, Win7 64 bit can only be installed through booting with the DVD.

Thats where the error is, because of the file partition MFT error, then stopped/
(i apologise for wrong info here, as I just left it with 32bit win7 on, and started my installs).

Are there any bits of help on this?

I can try the other ssd, secure erase, then try again, new with ssd's, so very noobish here, sorry.
