** CRAZY ADATA SSD DEAL!! ** - PRE-ORDER NOW!!

Quick question, as the price is held until stock arrives. If you drop the price after 2 weeks could anyone who gets one have the money back (or credit to purchase another thing). The only reason I ask is I have purchase pre-order stock for here before and within 2 weeks its on special.....

Really? I might try that with the I7 980 I just bought on last weeks offer, but it was cheaper today.

I sent a webnote :)

I'll get this £119 Adata drive pre ordered too.

I'd order two if there was a pre order raid pack with two drives for £229 ;)

......

I can dream :(

I'd have to raid them on the Intel sata II ports though, or run them individually on the Sata III marvel ports, either way I dont think there would be much difference.

I know the 510s aren't the best performance SSDs, but they'd still be better (if run on SATA III) than my OCZ Vertex (1) drives wouldn't they (real world)?

Also, I know it's not a great idea to clone from a HDD to an SSD, but could you use Acronis to back-up and SSD and then later restore to it? Or is this a bad idea also?

What is this?????

Think I'm gonna cancel and wait for lower M4 prices instead :(

Thats just one of the benchmarks. From the looks of it real world performance is minimal. I went from a single vertex 1 to 2x C300 in raid0 and noticed nothing. I think a lot of these speeds are over rated at its mostly access times that make the big difference between spindle drives and SSD's.

If your more interested in bench results then go for a more expensive drive but otherwise i really dont see the point. I bet a lot of people if tested to see which drive is which would never notice anything doing day to day tasks.

That benchmark for some reason failed, the real speeds are closer to the Force 3, its an anomoly if you look at the other benchmarks. Ill get this updated as the issue was with the computer not the drive.

Hmmm, well the thing is, this is my current gaming drive. Its no SSD, but it has 2 Tb space and is still great for loading times in everything I play:

Also I'm having second thoughts of getting a 120 Gb SSD for games, I'll barely be able to fit anything on it, and would hate having to copy and delete stuff from it all the time :(

... How do I cancel my preorder?

All you need to do is call the sales team on 0871 200 5052 and quote your order number.

Just to futher stress my point, all the other benchmarks run at the same (give or take 1-2%) as the Force 3 except for this one test that for a reason due to a motherboard issue didnt perform as it should have. This is not a drive limitation but instead a limitation on the board used.

The speeds are actually more like the following with a new bench being issued later this evening with the settings performed correctly.

500/500
450/450
30/90
110/350

Not

210/100
210/100
30/90
90/100

Yea I would still like an SSD for gaming, but I need more space than 120 Gb.

I want to be able to install all my games to it without having to delete and copy new ones, plus move my whole steam folder to it.
