No she didn't. The article says that the fires broke out while she was already in Africa on a diplomatic mission as part of a presidential delegation. While in Africa, she responded to the fires by communicating with local authorities and public safety personnel (exactly as she would have done if she'd been in LA) and she returned as soon as possible. on a military plane.

Have you seen some of the officials too - full-on woke/DEI hires among the leadership of both the Fire Department (earning 400k or so a piece) and the person in charge of the fire hydrants (700k pay) - many of which were either missing (vandalised/stolen) or just empty anyway.

And of course the basic fire prevention matters like controlled burns, forest thinning etc.. get opposed by environmental lobbyists. (There's additional perverse international incentives here too like controlled burns counting towards emissions for Kyoto but wildfires not counting!).

And lastly the leftist favorite of price controls appears to have left people with unrenewed house insurance policies so they've literally lost everything.

To be fair it's a terrible comment to be making "you got yourself in your own trouble" but has absolutely nothing to do with these forest fires, ain't nobody being carried out of these homes because people will have evacuated well in advance now

I wouldn't be surprised if it was 0. The number of people that own Bitcoin and take self custody is probably less than 1%, and the small number that do likely would've had time to grab their hardware wallet and backup seed when they evacuated. Even if they forgot or didn't have time to grab their hardware wallet/seed, there's a good chance they had another backup or used a fire resistant seed storage. Personally I memorized mine which was surprisingly easy.

I think if I was in a burning building I wouldn't give a **** if the firefighters looked like me, absolutely [redacted] mentality - in fact I'm not sure I'd even know given they may be wearing breathing apparatus... I'd be much more concerned about whether they're competent and able to do their jobs well than whether they're black, white, arab, east asian etc..
