Creative = For Shame

Well sounds important yes...But I only have some old Labtec speakers I brought ages ago, literally two speakers and sub.

I'm more for getting a card just to offload work from the comp so to speak...Just let the card do its thing in the background.
I think theres quite a nice Azutech one that's supposed to be good and less than £50 (I think), it should give better sound quality than onboard...

Well, this is a funny story, but after years of working ok, my Creative Audigy 2 ZS on Windows XP SP2 (fully updated) nearly killed my system (ok, an exaggeration). Anyway, it was working fine until yesterday when all of a sudden I had no sound. I reinstalled the drivers over the top, which fixed the sound, but then I started getting memory read exceptions and finally today when I started my computer it just hung at the XP scrolling bar screen. I thought, hmm, so I uninstalled creative drivers etc and all was working fine again, windows loading no problem. Random breaking sound drivers are not what I like. I actually think I might just switch back to onboard audio for the first time in 3 years. Weird how it broke, but maybe it's a sign! :p.
