Why were we lucky? Both sides probably deserved to win but only one can unfortunately.

True thats the problem, one team always wins and the other loses. Just feel gutted for Lara that he ended up on the losing side and also got run out when he was batting:p.

Still an awesome game though, second time England have been in a very close match but this time managed to pull it just about lol.

Cricket aint gonna be the same without Lara sadly...but i think age has caught up with him as he hasnt been anywhere close to his scintillating best in the WC.

Game over, well done to England altho they were helped by some wayward bowling by the Windies....Windies should have beaten England but Collymore cost them the match with his awful bowling....last time we will see Lara :(..sad end to his career...

Cant see Windies winning this unless they bowl very tight....interesting end tho

LMAO .. and the West Indies weren't helped by the wayward bowling of Plunkett?

Continuously one-eyed.

Last 20 Test matches he was averaging over 50 and had hit 8 centuries. Two of which were double centuries (one in Australia and one in Pakistan so in difficult conditions). He made a couple glorious centuries out in South Africa as well. So he wasn't punishing the minnows, he was doing it at the highest level.

He said he wanted to continue his test career and he should have done, he still has something to offer at that level. ODI he has been dragging himself along for a while now but he was still class in Test matches. I feel all the criticism he has got thrown at him in recent weeks due to a poor WC campaign for WI hasn't helped and that is the main reason he has called it a day. A lot were calling him for go though, many were saying he was just looking out for himself in the team and if that was the case then he probably should have gone.

In cricket this year has really been the end of an era for many great players. The greatest bowlers and batsmen from the Nineties were without question McGrath, Warne, Lara and Tendulkar. Warne and Lara are now gone. McGrath will be gone after this world cup and who knows with Tendulkar's form if he will last the year. I guess you gotta move on but everyone who watched cricket over the last 10-15 years will no doubt miss those guys leaving. They might of tortured the teams we follow but I'll definitely miss them and watching their teams come out without them will feel strange for a little while.

PMSL well put it this way England helped literally every team in the WC with their wayward bowling:p.

Anyways watched the highlights from bbc1 last night and have to say that the game was very exciting from start to finish. About time Vaughan made a valuable contribution with both bat and ball...maybe it will save his place in the ODI side.

As i said before its a shame that Lara has decided to retire, so after this WC we have Lara and Inzi who have both retired although Inzi still wants to play Test cricket but i have a feeling that Pak will go with younger players and we wont be seeing Inzi all that much...which is a shame because even though they had a terrible WC, hes still an excellent batsman in both forms of the game. And now MacGrath will be leaving us soon as the WC is finished...Tendulkar i take it hasnt retired so in a way thats good as i like the little master but hes definitely had a run of bad form lately...

Still my money is on the Aussies to win it..cant see any of the semi-finalists being able to beat them at the moment but then cricket is a funny ole game as shown last night...

Only 3 games left in this world cup, the first of the semi finals is starting in 2 hrs! Sadly I can't watch it because I have an exam tomorrow, gutted.

Today:

Sri Lanka vs New Zealand

Tomorrow:

Australia vs South Africa

I hope Sri Lanka go all the way.

SL had a couple of the worst LBW decisions you'll ever see, by possibly the 2 best umpires going too. Bond was shocking as well.

Looks like I've ruined the World Cup for The Black Caps by tipping them. :o

Not that it will make much difference, the Aussies are just too damn good, mores the pity. :(

Aussies and SA playing today, already lost one wicket SA has...7/1 so far....Bracken taking the first scalp of Smith

Am hoping the Aussies thrash those racist SA's today...really looking forward to an Aussie and Sri Lankan final.

Haha SA are losing wickets quick now...12/2 with Smith and Kallis gone already...MacGrath taking the 2nd wicket...great stuff by the Aussies:D
