Criticise the Saudis and you go home in pieces

Wonder if it will include the more senior types in the plot with close links to MBS?

Also you've got to wonder what some of the members of the Saudi security/intelligence services think of it - ostensibly these guys were following orders from the top and now they're being sacrificed by the people who gave the orders in the first place.

I imagine it would lead to vastly increased friction in Riyadh as people stay away from operations that are going to get them shot/hanged. It'd be like working for Stalin when he was going mad, anyone that wasn't is family was basically preemptively dead unless they toed a thin line.

Though it depends on whether these men are actually the same ones and that Turkey hasn't just allowed the Saudi's this one thing to theatrically deal with it.

They could always go to a Saudi government building for a chat about their concerns...

Surely someone would publically spill the beans if a load of their mates are getting out to death for a sanctioned op.

I suspect it's all a charade. They'll drag it out, perhaps bump off a few low ranked personnel or disappear them whilst making overtures to the Turks to go easy on them.

I think you know the answer to that already.

Assuming it ever happens. Talk is cheap. If push comes to shove though and the West wants someone answer for it do I think they're are capable of executing someone for for following orders? Yes.

I imagine they'll see it as incompetent bungling with little sympathy (just how did the Turks get hold the evidence anyhow? Did they not take precautions?)

Well that's brutal! Surely they would only have taken photos to 'prove' to their bosses they had done the job properly? Sounds like the hit squad is being thrown to the wolves because of the unexpected (no I idea why it would be unexpected) fallout and embarrassment to certain royal princes.

Turkey leaks photos of the dismemberment.

Pretty brutal if true, hung up on a forklift and cut to pieces with a chainsaw.

Wow, that is sick.

Wish I hadn't seen that.

If Turkish intelligence has got photos they have shown themselves to be first rate in this ordeal. They've been all over the Saudis from the off.

Perfectly positioned? I reckon they got these later somehow after gaining entry.

I'm guessing they'll have been taken straight from the consulate's own security cams by MİT.

Doing it in front of hardwired security cameras would be the most stupid thing anyone could think of. This must have been a standalone camera that was set up to record it all.

They've had access to the consulate and the residence of the consul general AFAIK - perhaps someone naively deleted some files on some hard drives without actually removing/destroying the drives.

They did have the ability to record sound from inside the consulate though it wasn't actively monitored it seems else they'd perhaps have arrested the Saudi's at the airport. Khashoggi's partner had raised the alarm early on and they did speak to the Saudis from one of the planes at the airport but seemingly didn't have grounds to detain them at that point.

It is clear they established rather quickly that he was clearly murdered and they were quite confident in asserting that as a result of the sound recordings they were able to review.

Yeah, i'm not clicking that.

Hopefully the brutality of it in full view will finally show the world (the part that matters i mean) what Saudi Arabia represents, you can bet this will do the rounds of FB, Twitter et al.

The photos are fake, it's taken from the movie/TV series Braquo, a french crime drama or something.

The photos are pretty tame too, you likely seen worst in Breaking Bad or Hannibal the TV series.

Because it practically just popped up, seems this is substantial.

CIA concludes Saudi crown prince ordered Jamal Khashoggi’s assassination

The CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month, contradicting the Saudi government’s claims that he was not involved in the killing, according to people familiar with the matter.

Considering the top level establishment in Washington wanted to bury the Saudi involvement in 9/11, i can only hope the mood is shifting.
