If you run 4 sticks of this Crucial Ballistix 3600 (either 16Gb or 8Gb assuming they are both dual rank) so you are quad ranked, should it run at its advertised XMP timings (16-18-18-38)?
Cheers.
mine is red and it is dual rank for sure. it has always been dual rank on the micro E-die for 16GB i thought.
thats has to be a recent thing...and probably hit and miss if you do decide to order a set of theseYeah it has but some of these sticks come with Micron B-die 2048MB IC's on them and are SR.

quite recently early last months.Yeah that's the annoying thing. Some people have received SR B-die when they want DR E-die so are trying to figure out a way to differentiate the 2 before buying. Maybe they've switched over to B-die now and it's only the older stuff that was E-die but plenty of people are still getting E-die that have bought them recently. When did you buy yours?
That's a shame, thanks for the update.I just received 32gb of this ram. And it's two sticks of 16gb single rank for anyone interested.

Which colour?
Maybe it's to do with the date of manufacture and since the red sticks are less popular there not being sold as fast so your more likely to get an older set.
I might be wrong, but have all the people reporting single rank bought the red sticks. I realise this could be our coincidence, but just asking.
