Crying at films

I've also found myself getting more emotional watching movies than I used to.
Movies like The Pianist, Schindlers List and especially the interviews with the real surviving 'Band of Brothers' at the start of the episodes have all made me well up.
Doesn't really happen with romance movies and that kind of thing but stuff about real past human suffering always hits me hard :(

With the sound turned down I could watch kittens being minced, but put in a sad soundtrack and I'll probably have a sniff.

I've cried once or twice - but I can't remember the films. I've certainly welled up at more films as well. But now I have no heart.

all you alpha males, try watching this....

grave of the fireflies

if that doesn't move you, i guess nothing will. don't let the fact it's an anime fool you. i've never seen anything so powerful in all my life. i was crying my eyes out at the end. :(
Did nothing for me emotional wise, but a good film none the less

Green Mile was a pretty sad film to be fair!

Now this made me cry:(, a very moving film.

I find myself welling up, but I rarely actually cry.

I have found I well up quite often, even during films like Click!
Argh I hated Click...
It allowed you to fall into a sense of laughter and feeling good about what you were watching - then it changed and became horrible just when you were most vulnerable :p

Maybe we should devise a list of acceptable television/film to shed a tear to. That's not crying though, any full on crying is just gay.

Including:

The Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
Band of Brothers

Yea the ones being mentioned already had me snivelling somewhat.
Green Mile, Original Terminator stuff like that.

I did have rather an embarrassing moment in the cinema a few weeks back, but that was a totally opposite reaction to the rest of the crowd. It was a gory scene and I think (cant remember what it was) someones head got chopped off, I loudly cackled with laughter..... the rest of the cinema goers remained silent. Opps I felt a plumb

I cry at movies all the time. It's just as healthy to express sadness as it is to express happiness. Expressing your emotions enforces emotional stability, keeping them locked up is what causes mental issues. I found out from a young age that my EQ (which is your emotional intelligence) was quite above normal.

The whole alpha man thing regarding not crying is a farce. It doesn't make you any less of a man. To understand and feel the raw emotion behind a message or story is the ability to truly appreciate and understand empathy and ultimately the trait that makes us human. Fair enough if you're just trying hard not to show emotion because you think your girlfriend won't dig it, but to actually not feel anything just shows a dense character in my opinion. A lack of understanding.
