Crysis 1.1 is here

Oh God the repercussions of this are going to be huge, a storm is brewing .

*puts on tin hat*

I wonder how many sales they gained from these promises over Christmas and lo and behold they haven't delivered.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm heading into my nuclear bunker while I await the aftermath.

are you seeking attention or something?

Simply saying the repercussions of this are going to be massive, more failed promises from Crytek and EA. There is going to be hell on. Take my advice and put your tin hat on.

Yes, but in more than one thred saying almost exactly same thing?

Anyway, what repercussions? What are people going to do? What could/did they do when they found the game originally didn't run as well as they had hoped?

At most, people voiced their opinions on forums.... end of story. Not much else they can do - with the exception of not buying.

And I think most of those who would buy the game no matter what, already have. The others who are patient will probably be happy to leave it til there is better hardware and the game is in the bargain bucket.

Tis only a game at the end of the day, and guess we will all just have to accept now that this is a good as its gonna get for a while :)

So what, it's nothing but the truth if I didn't say it someone else will have. It's a free forum I'll post what I like thank you.

I simply mean the same old EA bashing, I daren't go over to the Incrysis forums, will be bloody awful. People were putting their money on this patch on fixing up the game and yet again we have an empty promise.

I don't care I've completed Crysis and don't play multiplayer. But I will take the back seat with my popcorn and watch the show unfold :D.

I posted this last month in the Crysis thread;

Everyone's waiting for a patch - Like that's going to sort out a 20fps problem! What is everyone expecting? A patch that gives you another 20fps? :p You only get 20fps because it's poor coding. A patch is not going to sort that out. the only way to sort that out is by throwing more hardware at the problem. Hardware that doesn't currently exist but how much is that going to cost when it does? Crysis could become the worlds most expensive game ever!!

Still can't believe people thought that a patch was going to magically sort out frame rate problems. As I said last month, Crysis runs like a 3 legged dog becuase of poor coding. A patch is not going to sort that out.

The whole thing feels like it was rushed, at least in the later stages of development - a lot of what was expected is abscent & the last couple of levels are appaling. Don't suppose they had much time for optimising code either. No, the only way to sort out Crysis' poor frame rate is to throw more power at it I reckon.

Bit of a let down for people that already have cutting edge hardware but there you go. Sign of the times. It would be amazing what people could get out of current hardware if they really had time to develope for it. But these days before that happens something else has superseeded it! It's a power struggle.

No improvement for me in normal play. Possible improvement in the very hectic bits with lots of enemys and explosions, but not sure.

I was always accepting of performance of the game on current hardware

Sorry, I should have used more smilies and phrased myself better - came across aggressive when not my intention.

PS - :)

:), Just tried the patch myself and noticed no gains. Worth a try I suppose. What the hell is going on though where are these DX9/DX10 improvements

We need some clarification here.

The game isn't coded poorly. Some people don't have the hardware to run the game. Runs flawlessly on high settings in 1920x1200 here.

Are you not quite taking onboard how much more is going on at a time in this game than anything else on the market, Supreme Commander is the only other game I can think of where there is such a huge amount going on at once.

No matter how good the coding is, when there is so much going on a lower end pc is going to struggle.
