i'm a bit dissapointed, this patch has done nothing for me, apart from adding the luxuary of having vsync as an option as well as motion blur, considering i don't use them... yay!

Not only that, the patch insists on reverting back to original config (the "Insert DVD" message when you have modified conf files and unlocked highest settings for DX9 ) which it then leaves them in the same pityful state as original game. Patched game still pops stones and sprites 200 yards in front of you, enemies still vanish to add to "realism" and massive trees still can be chopped with two shots from small pistol as far as I can see. They couldn't even make the effort to improve basics, stuff that we started tweaking to make the game slightly less dissapointing vs original videos...

just finished crysis again on 1.1 in DX10, and i noticed a staggering improvement in FPS during the final act of the game 'paradise lost > reckoning' its totally playable even with my custom config, without any slowdown, that seems like an improvement to me considering before i used 1.1 it was all slow and stuttery :)

dont rate crysis at all yes its great looking but if this is the the future of games , looks great but boring then the future is bleak , what about improving / making an original game? if the devs had spent more time making a game that broke the mould rather than trying to make the best looking game out there crysis may have been worth playing , take cod4 i would replay levels in that game for agdes , take the sniper level great fun and tence , my god people if you want a gaminging experiance , get BF2 and install project reality mod now your in a game ! , ok graphics are bad now , but gameplay shines through !

see i feel COD4 offers nothing but a singleplay substandard game with a heavily outdated engine, what does COD offer that makes it so damn good, its hilariously over-rated IMO and before someone goes off on one, i own COD4 and enjoyed playing through it, but its not even remotely special

Well i finally got round to installing the 1.1 patch, and got to say i notice no difference what so ever. I think in multi player if anything its even worse, if i run with 2xAA it drops to about 5fps. Without it runs at about 25fps, that and don't really notice a change with or without AA. Objects at distance still have loads of jaggies and up close they are slightly smoother. That an image quality seems to have got worse, slightly grainy for some reason.

I've tried different drivers but they made no difference. Seems better without patch to me.

Why shouldn't people moan? Crytek said the game will be smooth on a C2D and 8800gtx/ultra at very high settings an clearly its not.Yes, its a very good looking game and if Crytek hadnt said what the game would run on at very high detail, people wouldn't be moaning but they did so thats why people have the ump.

I agree, people are definitely entitled to moan when games fail to live up to that kind of hype, especially if they've gone out and bought the hardware mentioned specifically so they can play those games, that's costing them a lot more than just the price of a game. I suppose the moral is, don't believe it til you see it.
