Crysis 2... Awsome!

I agree with all of that completely!

I am loving the maps. Even though some are just rehashed SP segments you can tell a lot of thought has gone in to them and hopefully (though I doubt it) will give other developers a kick to put a bit more effort in.

At the minute I've been using the M60 but I've had the obvious lag issues where I've been snuck up to someone and started peppering them with this beast only for them to turn around and drop me within seconds.

The balance is off like you said as well as I feel pretty useless against some of the guys that have been playing it since release constantly so have all the nifty perks. I can see why companies do it but they should at least give you a bigger range of options from the outset so I can at least try to fight back.

I'll keep plugging away at it though as I'm getting so-so scores at the minute but once I get more unlocked and find a layout i'm happy with I'll start kicking ass. :D

The one thing that COD should rip off from this game is the dog tags. What a simple effective way to keep people moving.

Get a kill and pick up a dog tag from the body. If you don't pick up the dog tag you don't get +1 towards your killstreak. So you can snipe and kill 30 people from range but you don't get killstreaks.

Very simple and effective.

Just managed to get the Band of Brothers achievement on Veteran which I was quite pleased with. Wont be doing a 3rd play through on SuperSoldier though, cant be bothered doing that :p

I could never get them to stop killing themselves even on easy. I've read that achievement takes a lot of luck, some try for days others get it without trying on super soldier. I had 3 tries then stopped bothering.

I've been playing a bit more MP and for some reason I'm actually liking it. To start with it was really bugging me, I was getting killed by one or two stray shots from someone waving their gun about like a flailing baton. The maps also annoyed me to start with, a little too open for my taste, I'm a bit of a camper :p

But now I'm getting used to the weapons and the maps it's a little better and I'm hankering for those other weapons. One of the things I'm not really getting is that there doesn't seem to be much room for variation. The maps don't seem to lend themselves well to sniping and if you want to shotgun someone it's got to be your main weapon.

If anyone fancies teaming up give me a bell.

You can fit the shotgun attachment to the scar, I've just fitted it but not tried it yet.

Some of the maps are great for sniping, like the car park level. When you find people are fighting it out inside you can get vantage points to snipe them inside the car park. Or the lighthouse level, brilliant map for cloaking and sniping.

I'd love to play that map with claymores :D

I've not played a map I hate yet.

I forgot about the attachments... will have to try it with my next unlock, I don't think I've played those maps yet, there seems to be quite a few. Am only level 7.

I do like the customization too, plenty of variety.

Guess I must have got lucky as I did it on my first try, although I was convinced I hadn't as I heard on the radio someone was bleeding out but it popped up nonetheless :)

I'm just on that part now. Playing on Supersoldier is kind of annoying, you simply have to stealth everywhere unless you want to be seriously raped. I'm still angry that I lost all my awesome weapons too, I had the microwave gun and the silenced sniper rifle and I wake up to the guy giving me a pistol... :(

Finished my Supersoldier run last night and now only need to kill 10 enemies with thrown objects.. I'm thinking the ant things are the perfect targets for this :)

I'm now gonna batter MP but unfortunately my internet connection where I am living now (for the next few months..) is terrible.. like 0.1k terrible.

I downloaded a 260MB DLC for NFS:HP and it took about 5 - 6 hours lol :(

Wish me luck online lol

I killed the ten enemies on the 3rd chapter, just picked up a bin and hoyed it at some people, make sure you pick something up that's heavy, I tried it with a trolley and it took like 10 throws to kill someone lol

Clocked this over the weekend..... Call me rude but it seemed rather short lol.

Anyways, Im now taking on online mode. Great fun. Much better than COD!

The way I did it was two bullets in the legs then one throw of anything, occasionally it needed another throw :)

Playing on the 360 anyone else think the game/graphics looks grainy ? and blurs a lot when moving around ??

Ben, Is it like this?

If so, you can try a couple of things. Restart the last mission from the beginning, not "Resume Game". If that doesn't help, go back to the dashboard/memory settings. Clear the system cache. This will delete the game updates, but not the saves.

Then restart the game and download the update again. Then restart the mission (again, not resume). Does this fix the issue?

Mine blurs a bit when my enemies move around, it's like an intense motion blur, I thought it was meant to be like that tbh.

EDIT:

So after playing this for a little while I've come to the conclusion that the multiplayer is terrible. Single player the game is fine, perfectly enjoyable and really fun in some of the parts I've come across so far but the lag in this game is ridiculous. Most games that I've looked at the scoreboard everyone has had a yellow or worse connection, whereas the host gets full bars and always seems to have more points and kills than everyone else. Not just that, but it's so inconsistent, some games you can dominate without even playing well and then others you work your ass off but always seem to be killed first, even if you land your shots successfully it's like they don't even register.

I also hate the hud and the way some of the things have appeared to have been shoe horned into the game. The custom dog tags and stuff, I never even notice them when people kill me, definitely not as nice a feature as the playercards in Black Ops and MW2, and I think that's a fair comparison seeing as these have a very strong resemblance to them. It just seems that the developers looked at what has been in the last few CoD games and then rammed them into the multiplayer even though they've been poorly implemented and don't really fit. I'd rather have seen something like customising your appearance like you can do in Halo, it would have fitted far better than adding some tiny dog tags with images inside of them that you can hardly work out without taking a proper look, and by then they've disappeared anyway.

Also sometimes it can be hard to find where you're meant to be going, sometimes I can't even figure out if I'm on the red team or blue team, I have to pull the scoreboard up to have a double check. :p

It's just minor things like that, on top of the ridiculously inconsistent connections that is ruining the multiplayer for me atm. The HUD I find to be really terrible, it's just a mess, I play CoD and I know how many bullets I have, where my friends are, where my enemies are and what I'm meant to be doing, and it's all presented in a manner which is easy to read even from a quick glance at the HUD, this isn't like that at all, maybe I just need to get used to it but I'm not enjoying the multiplayer at all atm, which is a shame because the maps are awesome.

Good games and movies are always too short :)

I still can't decide whether I like the multiplayer that much... It just doesn't seem to have enough to it imo and there seem to be a hell of of a lot of moments where you die and it makes absolutely no sense and the kicker is that when you watch the killcam it makes just as little sense!

Also, how ****ing long does it take to shoot after reloading!!? Utterly ridiculous.

Oh yea and the instances of "the guy at the top of the leaderboard just happens to be the host" are too myriad.

Finally... lol... what's with the game deciding to ramp the music volume up tenfold sometimes in the matchmaking screen?!

So many bugs!

The noise when your team gets a radar is so annoying as well. I put some headphones on earlier while playing and I had to turn the volume down, it's like a constant pulsing, it was really bugging me.

Once I've finished the single player I'll probably trade this in while it's still worth something. I don't see me sticking with the multiplayer it's too annoying and exactly like Skyfall has said above, you get killed and it makes absolutely no sense and the killcam rarely shows why you've been killed either. There's loads of times in other games where I've thought no way should I have died, but then I watch the killcam and see why I've died and that maybe it was a fair death after all. In this though the killcam just makes you feel even more cheated than you felt when you first got killed.

Come on Killswitch, it's not any different on any other Xbox live FPS. They are all connection dependant. It's annoying but then xbox live is **** for FPS, it's not up to the job anymore and as more users over the year have been added it's gotten worse imho.

What you also have to remember is the armour, if a player is quick enough to switch it on that would add to the effect of needing excess bullets.

I haven't noticed a problem with red and blue team, I think you are always the blue team? I've never been red, I think the enemy is always red???

Tags I never look at anyway, but then I never used or looked at the COD ones either, all my cod profiles still had whatever pictures you start with.

Killcams, don't bother with them. They are just guidance on where you have been roughly shot from, same for COD. Pointless getting angry over them they are not accurate enough yet to care about.

I've played one game on xbox live that didn't have host advantage on a FPS, GRAW.

idk, I play FPS' everyday on xbl and they're all pretty ok, Crysis 2 isn't that bad but i just seems glitchy rather than laggy and latency doesn't seem to be as much of a key element in COD/Reach...

Kilcams in MW2 are highly superior to those in Crysis 2, first of all guns never seem to have any recoil in Crysis 2 killcams anf at least half of the time the killcam is showing someone shooting near me or nowhere near me, or just doesn't make sense at all. That rarely happens in COD the usual thing you see in COD is that according to the server you were actually somewhere else because of lag.

Also, I never even noticed tags came up when you died or killed people... lol
