Crysis 2... Awsome!

Just placed order on Amazon for PC, but part of me is still wanting this on PS3 for some duff reason!

One main reason I gave up rig's was so that I can laze out on the sofa with a beer, a controller, couple of mates also with controllers and ease of play :)

I don't miss sitting a foot away from a monitor on my own with headphones on to be honest.

The graphic dip (all be it huge) is something I can tolerate for the above.

No it really wouldnt and this argument has been done to death and even crytek have said it wasnt possible :D, the jungle setting would make sure of that.console tech is 5-6 years old now.

That doesn't mean it wouldn't be possible I'm afraid, they had many reasons to say that. There's no reason why it wouldn't run at lower detail and resolution if properly optimized for a console setup.

I have console for that reason also. better for when your mates are round but to be honest its just not as immersive and no where near as good looking. Its nice to have the best of both worlds. you could just hook a pc up to an hd tv and use a controller

I do hook my pc up to tele, and play with controller with all games that support it (yes, even FPS games!).

Actually played through both Crysis and Warhead no long ago this way, and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though the gamepad support could have been better.

Hopefully the gamepad support is improved this time round.

I think the major reason I want it on console, is it's just easier on the MP side to find people to add to friends list and play with.

Not that I played much of the first two games MP :)

Really? IMO Farcrys been their only great game and without that making their names, what followed would have been considered a tech demo pretending to be an average game

Yes, but IMO Crysis and Warhead are NOT tech demos and are superb games in their own right and both have added a layer of on-the-fly weapon and suit customisablity and freedom to change your strategy and achieve your goals how you please to the Fps genre which has been previously unseen in videogames - and still is - except for Crysis 2 now.

Forget the graphics for a moment, I really don't get how anyone who claims to have played either of them can say they aren't very good games.

Sorry but after playing crysis through. Very Recently. Its an average game. Halflife 2, that is exceptional. Crysis doesn't even nip at its heals. If the game isn't special, giving it a nice paint job and throwing in a super suit doesn't change that.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to respectfully agree to disagree then. To me Crysis was and still is a very unique and innovative Fps experience and IMO (along with Warheard) the best in the genre so far.

Bless you :)

Why don't you give your opinion instead of just patronising somebody elses?

Oh wait its because you hardly play any games for more than a few minutes yet feel you have the knowledge and experience to comment on everything...

And learn how to use (sic) properly No insults!

Having owned and played on games consoles and pc since the release of the spectrum way back when ( there are others of course who will of played since beginning of video game time ) I have to say that half life 2 is the single most over rated and over hyped game of all time.
Half life - great game the turning point in fps gaming.
Half life 2 - turgid pile of crap. Slow never gets going gameplay, dull weapons, boring levels, and before you know it, its over.
Crysis is a much better game and a much greater technical feat than half life 2 ever was.

I got my copy today. I'm quite enjoying the game. I've found out that if you get seen and a few enemies are around then you will get shot down very quickly.
I like that it has a killzone type cover system if you duck near a wall or on a pillar.
The aliens are a pain in the arse to kill because they're so quick. My reactions aren't good enough to keep up with them :o
I have noticed one slight problem - sometimes when i've stopped moving to get behind a wall or something,my character will keep walking by itself:confused: This is a pain as a couple of times it walked out of cover:mad:

I thought half life 2 was amazing the first time i played it, same with crysis, it still is. Can't wait till my copy comes through the post tommorow (fingers crossed) pc version
That would be awesome if you could build own console, imagine the os is the ps3 xmb and you add you own hardware. One can dream :)

Didn't get a chance to play this last night, was down the pub instead.

Will hopefully get more gametime in tonight though.

Could it be your controller? Mine does that sometimes, moves me to the left.

Also got my PC hooked up to my plasma and I played through Crysis recently with a 360 pad whilst lounging on the sofa...I prefer it this way. For Crysis 2 though I'm just gonna go with the 360 and possibly pick up the PC version later on. Depends how much I like it.

Going slightly off topic for a sec but I really wish I could do that lol, see after all my years of PC gaming leaning over a mouse and keyboard now I can't get comfortable laying back into a sofa. I have to sit right at the edge of the sofa and lean forward with the controller :( When I lean back into the sofa I dunno it just feels like I can't aim properly.
