Crysis 2... Awsome!

I've come to the decision that MP in this game is utter crap.

Host advantage, lag and bull**** moments are too common in it. Plus the fact that the map selection isn't random is just rubbish.

I'm enjoying single player BUT kinda getting fed up of enemies knowing where I am even when i'm cloaked. I spent 20 minutes killing a tripod yesterday. Not because it was difficult but because whenever I got behind it,it would spin 180 degrees to face me. So i'd then have to navigate the whole map to try and get behind it again:mad:

pretty sure some of the bigger aliens can see you when you are cloaked especially when you are close up

They shouldn't be able to see me when i've sneaked around the whole map and got behind them. I got so fed up with trying to kill this tripod last night so I just turned my xbox off.

I don't even know of areas that have been visually stunning, decent but nothing that's made me just stop and look around like other games have.

lol, pretty much every level is like that for me.

as for the draw distance i haven't noticed any problems with it. take a look over the edge of the road in some levels and see how deep you can see. you can huge buildings like the flatiron building blocks away. hardly noticed any pop up myself and certainly none that has detracted from the experience.

id love to know what games you are playing that makes you think this is average. the mind boggles. this game raises the bar considerably for console graphical achievement. anyone who appreciates graphical and technical achievement should be buying this game.

the physics engine should be complimented as well, objects react as you'd expect them to and considering the number of different things you can pick up and throw around its pretty impressive. love the bits where the road collapses and you see the cars sliding down and tipping over.

theres so many wow factors for me i couldnt list them all. like hiding behind a concrete barrier and seeing bits of it smash off as the enemy shoot at you. Or taking cover behind a car only for one of those big aliens to walk up and toss it out of the way so they can get at you. the water sloshing and splashing around you as bullets fly at you. laser sights coming up into the room you are hiding in as the enemies search for you. there was a moment for me when I could see the shadow of an enemy round the corner, this huge shadow on the wall of this massive spider thing, i was thinking wtf is that! only to walk round the corner and see one of those little alien bugs had wandered in front of a spotlight:p

I could go on and probably will later as im not finished the campaign yet:p

why shouldn't they? they have ears and probably a version of nanovision. search around for a rocket launcher or hoy a few grenades at them.

Only played it half an hour so far, its ok but the story so far dosn't make much sense? (Might start again if I missed something). The graphics while good seem a little bit to crammed with debry making the location seem cluttered. I think Heavy Rain still have the lead on graphics.

As for the gameplay I have to play a lot more before I can judge on that. :)

That's another thing that I forgot to add... I know the guy above said it was cluttered but to me it's exceptional detail and level design.

NYC looks like it's been torn to bits and it looks to me like they've clearly spent time researching into disasters that have occurred in big cities.

For example in the tunnels under the city where it is pitch black.. Turn on nanovision and there is still a shedload of debris which wouldn't normally be visible.

The buildings look huge from ground level.. Which reminded me of exactly how it felt to be standing on the streets of New York.

It's those sort of details that have impressed me graphically.

+1 to that brother, I think so many people are missing the point of Crysis II. unlike the first game its not purely a graphical exercise, its supposed to be a story flowing to a very confusing and surprisingly finale for me (if you finished it, what the hell is with the ending?!), but the person above is right about the lovely little attention to detail, New York in this game to me looks more like a disaster zone than any other game I have ever played, you can tell Crytek have done their homework and researched what happens when there are virus outbreaks, etc. plus the soundtrack is really good. :)

I was getting annoyed with this last night and i think it took C4 - 2 rockets - about 5 nades and and my machine gun before i killed it :p that was vet difficulty and the cloak thing i sometimes think they actually spot you before cloaking but i have had a few WTF moments .

Really enjoying this I bought it a couple of days back... The biggest thing I've noticed when comparing to other FPS I've played recently (especially Black Ops) is that I don't feel like I can see enemies, in Blops if people are there, you see them, fight them, jobs a good'n but in Crysis (360) there is so much stuff on the landscape being rendered that the enemies get lost in it and you almost feel like you need to use the visor...

All in all tho, awesome so far :)

+1 I have no idea where i'm being killed from half the time... :D

Thats another thing, they can see you FAR too well, the second your cloak runs out you get blasted from 5 different angles...

+1 again. with the aliens that jump all over the place this is really annoying why can't they just stand still and die... :D

Still not loving this tbh, seems to have the same problems that I found with the first one mainly being the enemy AI - they just seem to be able to spot you regardless of whether your miles away or even if you're crouched behind something big and metal like which to me makes me feel like I have to play the game almost completely using the invisibility mod. The constant enemy spawning and watching them run on the spot against a wall is also far too PC like for me.

I'll see it through till the end to waste some time but I wouldn't recommend it.

Oh and graphically I was more impressed with KZ3 on the PS3

I'm going to add what I think are a few valid points about the subject, firstly I think the whole thing with the AI being able to see you instantly all depends on where you are in my experience with the game so far, completed one play-through. The impressive vision of the AI enemies is to emphasis the suits stealth abilities I think more than anything, doubt its a screw up on developers part, its just to encourage you to use the nano-suit to its full potential. also worth noting the aliens can detect you I believe if they suspect you are their they run over and emit some sort of energy burst, the stealth metre immediately goes red and you start taking fire, when in stealth passing aliens, don't make any sudden movements, keep it low, slow and very very smooth and you can sneak past more or less all of them.

The Pinger (tripod) like the Ceph gunship, the weakest spot is the red glowing 'energy core' on the back, they seem to go down quickest when you use the JAW to hit them their, must admit though I am really blown away by how much I enjoyed the game so far, being a veteran of the original Crysis and Warhead I thought it was going to be 'dumbed' down for the console market, but will admit I was totally wrong and the game doesn't deserve half of the bad comments it gets, likewise for the original which people seemed to hate for some odd reason. I would give it 8 1/2 out of 10, would have gave it 9/10 if not for the occasionally brain-dead AI randomly walking into cars and what not, would have gave it 10/10 if the levels had been a bit more open ended, but its always going to be linear, all games are linear as much as they 'claim' not to be, there is always a pre-set bunch of things to occur to reach a pre-set conclusion, its the journey that matters though and with Crysis II, what a journey! :)

Just completed it. Wouldn't play through it again though tbh.

Don't think I will either other than to get some of the achievements, as for the multiplayer meh I'll still play it occasionally for now but I can't see me playing it for that much longer.

Story is good, shame they went for more linear maps, would have preferred if it was still sandbox. Multiplayer isnt reallly my cup of tea so will probably trade this game in once ive got the single player finished. It is a nice change to have sp campaign that last longer than 3 hours (cough Homefront cough)
