Crysis 2 DX11 Benchmarking - 1080p & 1440p - Green vs Red Team

Realised i did not verify GPUZ last post, so here is a new one, with quite an improved score too.

My results.
Shuttle SZ68R5
i7 2600K @ 4.8GHz
EVGA 680 @ 1241 core and 7208 Mem

Maybe this has been mentioned but what parts of Crysis bring it down to such a low min FPS?, is it just during intense moments or is there a specific part of the engine/feature of the engine that seems to really push graphics cards? just curious as looking at these benchmarks they all seem to follow that same pattern :)

I am nitpicking here and not that I do not trust everyone with their results, but it might be worth expanding the AA/Laplace Edge Detection column on the results as anyone could change the drop down box after their run!

It's the very beginning, it's nothing to do with it being difficult to run, just that the FPS counter begins as the scene just loads in. Even after loading the whole thing into memory this still occurs every run, there is no way around it.

Basically it's meaningless.

CPU = i7 2600K @ 4.8 over i7 950 @4.2 as well though, but I agree interesting.

Also I have no idea if it would make any difference to the results but the version of the benchmark tool that Krony is using doesn't appear to be the latest.

Ahhh right, thats what I wondered, thank you :) in that case these results with all the bells and whistles are most definitely very very impressive :)

I re-ran the 1080p benchmark over the weekend.

There is a bug in the benchmark program which results in the queue having its "AA" setting stripped on a re-start so, be wary!

1 x 7970 score 1300/1880/1.3V

1080p - 21.5/80.1avg

1. Simon Maltby - 1 x GTX680 19.8/97fps - 2600k @ 3.4GHZ

just to say CPU is actually at 4.8GHz not 3.4 :)

I have updated.

For single GPU at 1080p, my 7970 GPU core would need to be at or near 1550Mhz to beat that score - LN2 territory :)

I am using old drivers though but I doubt there is a 20% performance uplift in there to be had.

It would be fun to re-bench the 7970 against the 680 at 0xAA, same clocks using the Extreme preset. Would you be willing to do that? I want to see if the 20% performance delta remains at all settings.

My results are wrong in the OP besty! My CPU is at 4.5GHZ and my max fps is 97.2 not 57.2 :P

I don't think the OP added your last result cos it had no CPUz or validated GPUz as per his rules. I'm delighted you failed to provide these as it means i will have a short time at the top before you sort it out... then I will not be top anymore :(

James, download GPU-Z and run a validation, post the link and have it in your screenshot.

You should not need to re-run the bench as its stored in the tool.

CPU-z is also helpful as it just confirms you are not running a crazy LN2 type setup which skews the result.

I've got SLI though and your result with 1 card is pretty much identical lol :( Makes my wallet sad.

wow just ran this benchmark on my 6970 and phenom x4 955 oc to 3.7ghz, min frame rate was 1.5. upgrade to IB needed me thinks
