Crysis 2 is another console port, no DX11!!!!

If it only had DX11 I'd be screwed cause last I knew my GTX 260 was only the ancient DX 10.0

AND I'M NOT BUYING A NEW GPU!

I don't think anyone is implying that it should only (well I hope not) support DX11, but that it should have it as an option.

Personally I don't care as long as the game runs well, is fun and the interface at least looks like it's trying to support PC.

Surprise, surprise, Crysis 2 is a console port  :( :p :D

*yawn*

Old news are old.

Majority of gamers (PC+consoles) consider games such as Modern Warfare 2/Black Ops as top notch graphics.

Welcome to the world of $$$ and advertising.

I don't see how people can defend Crysis 2 if it ships with DX9 on the PC, it's frankly pathetic. What happened to the days when games were complete when they were released? Oh that's right, the game WILL be complete on the consoles, just not on the PC. If it's true, how long do you expect to have to wait to for the DX10 and DX11 graphics? 1 month? 4 months? 9 months?
As far as I know people buy high-end graphics cards to enjoy graphically stunning games to their full extent, which was what Crysis was all about, and now the dev's are saying "Well you can't enjoy the game to it's fullest, because we'll give you a half-assed release, so you have to wait until we put it in the game", so people who want to get the fullest out of the single player and take in the environment as they explore the story, can't. So they're stuck with a mediocre multiplayer which doesn't even work.

But why get wound-up and upset? Just don't buy it until it's to the standard you want it to be and the price you are willing to pay.

And your point is?

Raven seems to get a boner from bashing games/graphics cards for some reason. If something is not up to expectations, trust Raven to be all over it spending ages bashing it. lol

Really, considering the majority of the PC Market now have DX11 cards?

Late to the party, but I've got to pull you up on your made up statistic... ;)

The latest Steam survey shows that not even 6% of users can run DX11.

http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/

It doesn't really excuse the lack though, new releases should use up to date technology. That said... If it looks good and plays good I couldn't give a monkeys.

I don't find the use of the term 'console port' all that tbh. The majority of these titles are similtanious developments rather than ports. I'd expect them to produce a product that runs common to as much of the market as possible before adding elements unique to one platform.

Who's getting wound up or upset? Just think it's stupid that Crytek would turn their backs on the PC Gamers which have supported them for all this time, DX10 is nothing new and that at a minimum should have been included considering it was even in Crysis at release, DX11 should have been too but they could have made some excuse about that saying that they needed to optimize it because it was something new on the engine, but to not even bother with DX10 shows there's no commitment for the PC platform. It's easier now-a-days to dumb down a game, give it ****tier textures and poor DX effects and port it on the PC and call it a day.

Such a shame, had real hopes for this game, but like you say, buy it later when it actually contains the basic features it should have done at release for like £5 in Steam sales, but by that time BF3 will be out and I probably won't care about Crysis 2 anymore.

Actually I think it's not FSAA but something like AMDs MLAA that makes everything rather soft and blurry, it's being used on the 360 version, says it all really.

the game is ok, but i prefer the hiding and killing people slowly in fry cry and the first crysis. i think the graphics could have been better, but its not that bad, i dont think i can tell the difference when someone is shooting you non-stop.

the problem with most pc "gamer" have is they care more about the graphics and how hard it is to run on a £3000 system than the gameplay or the game itself. if i were to watch a beautifully rendered 3d scenery and chaos, i would go and watch toy story or other high budget 3d films instead of playing video games.

It is simple.

DX11 in shipping title - day1 buy.

DX11 not in a shipping title - day "whenever it is 15 pounds" buy

I didn't just buy GTX560Ti clocked to be more powerful than GTX570 just to play some inferior console-like version.

Da da da da, PC-gamer's-superiority-complex strikes again.

Fair enough if it turns out to be a bad game, but deciding not to buy it because it doesn't support DX11 is kinda silly, imo.

Funny thing is, even if it did support DX11 the whingers would be complaining that its badly coded because it doesn't run at a constant 60fps on their rigs.

Hehe, the devs can't win. And peeps wonder why they're deserting the platform?

/Bizarre throws dummy out of pram and screams "I'm not buying it because it is not DX11!". Lol.

ohnoes no DX11!! CONSOLE PORT CONSOLE PORT!!! I'M GOING TO CANCEL MY PRE-ORDER RARA RARAR

Please, for the love of god, shut the hell up.

So the game doesn't support DX11 out of the box, is it really THAT important? When i'm playing a game, i don't stand there and look around and say how pretty everything looks as i'm actually PLAYING the game.

The graphics of Crysis 2 looks great in my opinion, better then anything else currently (minus Crysis 1 of course  (to be honest, i can't tell the differnce)).

I'm going to get this game, because of the story and the fun that i'll have playing it, i don't give a rats ass if the light doesn't reflect off the aliens arse, all i care about is kicking the arse not staring at it.

/RAGE

Double post fail...

While I'm at it though, I'm with all the people saying what's the beef? Graphics are a small part of a game experience. I find the idea of cancelling just because of this ridiculous. If graphics where that important I'd spend my time watching benchmarks.

People who are saying it looks fine with dx9 and that dx11 is just a nice but unnecessary extra - are people who are failing to understand the argument.

People aren't complaining because the game doesn't have dx11 features and visuals. They're complaining because it shows that the game is totally catered to and for consoles with PC straggling far behind on Crytek's list of concerns.
It just shows that this absolutely isn't a PC title, which is also obvious from the other aspects such as pre-determined settings and aim assist. Seriously....aim assist....on a PC...even if it had dx11, that would be enough of a big neon lit PORT sign for me to cancel my pre-order.

So the argument of dx11 not being included has very little - if anything - to do with visuals.
