I'll hold my judgement until the game is release; It's the best looking DX9 game I've played so I'm not too worried. If the patch adds decent DX11 functionality then It'll be a very pretty game. As for the consolitis infected Demo, I really hope this isn't the case with the full game... we'll see.

once the mycrysis site was back up and running i didn't have a problem. they weren't expecting hundreds of thousands of people trying to hammer the server to death. the 360 demo got 1.7 million downloads iirc

i'm not sure, i mean crytek said the cry engine 3 could output to all 3 formats at the click of a button, but for dx10/11 it would need it's own team of workers and dedicated pc support.
i think it's just a case of they needed a demo to roll out asap (as no crysis 2 demo was ever planned for the pc, the demo's were to be x360 exclusives)so why not just roll out a demo on the quick. it takes time and money to produce a demo and ultimately crytek would never have satisfied everyone. like i said in a earlier post. it's like there is no winning with today's gamers you can't play it you moan,you can play it you moan, you can't log in due to server error you instantly dismiss the game etc etc the list goes on .

It's one of the most anticipated games of the year, perhaps *the* most. There's no way in hell they couldn't have predicted the demand on their servers with this demo. No excuse for this these days, as I said in my last post.

^^ wow they release a PC demo which as been completely fail and you expect PC gamers not to complain, the demo is suppose to sell the game retail game to potential customers not put them off, no DX11 in retail release say C2 is a complete failure on PC.

If it looks beutiful and we are all wow'd by the graphics does it matter if its nly dx9?
Dx10 and DX11 are just extra layers on top of dx9 anyway, so although on paper it sounds like a terrible decision, in reality its not really a big deal.

I think I'll wait until its released and have either played it or seen actual gameplay/opinions rather than complete assumptions and knee jerk reactions to details. It was always going to be brought inline with consoles (we all know thats where the money is right now and it was being published by EA...). I looks fantastic (oh noes I cant read the writing on this a4 piece of paper on this wall in this corner so it sucks - yes the textures arent the best but what they have done with the overall graphics considering the limitations is very good as far as im concerned. Doom3 on release was a marvel as everybody said of purdy it was but that aswell has shocking close up textures - dont say old engine lolol as thats not even an argument). We dont know the full story and we dont know how the full game will ship apart from the odd bit of leak weve got. I enjoyed the demo and I'm looking forward to the full game.

looks like some of my fellow PC gamers are becoming bigger moaners by the day. I've herd a lot of people on a few sites going "Im not going to buy this game because Auto aim is on by default" big deal I've not played the demo yet on the PC (tryed it on the 360 quickly a whiel back) but I herd there's a simple toggle option so whats the issue ?. Yes DX11 mode out of the box would be nice but hardly a game breaker, if they Max the game out like the did with Crysis 1 there be even more bitching about it being to demanding. Just Like Crysis 1.
If you don't like the demo that's your opinion but don't pirate the game or we might not get a PC version at all next time.

uploading some screenshots now from the demo. please tell me it looks **** cause it really dosen't just remember it's DX9, best i can do is fraps uploaded to photobucket. but it still looks great
only reason i'm doing this is because the only shot's i've seen from forum users up to now is starring at a brick wall. something i don't personally do or care about while playing multiplayer....

.Are you trying to second guess the market? I think you'll find most market research shows the majority are still on DX9.
Besides the amount of DEV costs to get those extra features in dont out weigh the profits made at the other end. Those of use who reallllly want DX11 (as there seems to be a few on here) will do there research and be happy to get it as a cheaper later date patch.

I don't see how people can defend Crysis 2 if it ships with DX9 on the PC, it's frankly pathetic. What happened to the days when games were complete when they were released? Oh that's right, the game WILL be complete on the consoles, just not on the PC. If it's true, how long do you expect to have to wait to for the DX10 and DX11 graphics? 1 month? 4 months? 9 months?
As far as I know people buy high-end graphics cards to enjoy graphically stunning games to their full extent, which was what Crysis was all about, and now the dev's are saying "Well you can't enjoy the game to it's fullest, because we'll give you a half-assed release, so you have to wait until we put it in the game", so people who want to get the fullest out of the single player and take in the environment as they explore the story, can't. So they're stuck with a mediocre multiplayer which doesn't even work.

Well this is very disappointing news, fortunately I'll have the new DOW and shogun to see me through the coming months. I'll hold out until a few reviews are out then i'll make my decision, but if it is as described here I won't be getting it.
