Crysis 2 minimum specs

It runs like crap on my system at the highest settings (and they're not even gonna be the highest) and doesn't look massively impressive tbh. The difference in graphics between settings is minimal though, which is a step forward from the first game.

crysis 2 is supposed to run far better than the first game anyway; everyone seems to say so, so we might be ok.;);)

it's just that with low frame rates/ lag etc, it's very hard to kill quickly/efficiently and it's far easier to get killed too, you just cant fight properly, unlike FEAR which is more like 100fps.

My thoughts entirely, as I've said many times before I reckon if Crytek had simply renamed Medium settings to "SUPERDOOPER ULTRA HIGH" and removed the ones above it, they wouldn't have taken half as much flak, despite it being an inferior product.

I think thats a very good point indeed! I have never thought of that before but it stands to reason. Also if they spent a bit more time on making the game more enjoyable it would not have gone a miss either! Lol

I hope my gtx 295s still have what it takes to burn though crysis 2 though

So is Crysis 2 more or less demanding than Crysis?

Slightly O/T but I can run Crysis maxed much better than Warhead maxed, and I heard Warhead was more optimised.

What gives?

I really depends on what you mean by maxed. I've got Crysis running on very high settings at 1680x1050 but without AA and it runs 30-40fps with the odd dip down to 25fps.

Some people wouldn't call that maxed, but it's certainly maxed for me, plays and runs very smoothly, no jerkiness, even in the middle of firefights. If the game looks great, feels smooth and plays well then that's good enough for me.

Id buy this on steam if there was a preload for it. last time around with Warhead there wasn't and the servers got flooded, took an age to download. They should really say in the advert if theres going to be a preload or not, its just a guessing game these days what games get it and what don't, with the obvious exception of knowing that valve games will always have it.

seeming as crysis 2 is a console port and there is no option whatsoever for aa and you can't even choose settings individually only presets, i would consider it maxed out :)

In the leak that is. And no its not maxed seeing as theres no option for dx11 and supposodly nomatter what you use textures object etc are always at medium.

if this happened it would cause early FULL torrent releases of the game

we will have to see when the full release is out then, btw i AM buying it
yeah well maxed out dx9 with 45fps+ average then

Crysis is an EA game, and they're not over-keen on Steam. EA games tend to launch a few days later on Steam to maximise retail and EA downloader sales.

I doubt very much there'll be a preload. Preloads are normally limited to Steamworks games.

No Steamworks game has ever been leaked properly before release. As has been said key files are missing of both the preloaded and retail versions and will only download once the release date has passed.

Most early pirated games are leaked via the retail chain. This is becoming much more difficult to do for PC games because many of them now incorporate similar anti-zero day piracy measures like Steam. It's interesting to note that the console versions of Bulletstorm have leaked, but the PC version hasn't - probably due to GFWL zero day piracy protection.

EA download manager pre-loaded BC2 for me... EA game, EA program. Might happen there. If I remember, we got access to BC2MP a day early... :) It was a long time ago

Just as with that original release it appears you won’t need a supercomputer to run the game.

We are all doomed :(

... strange how they make a game that won't run on 90% of computers , godadmit the original Crysis still lags on my system.
