Crysis 2 MP Demo on 25th Jan

In gameplay it's like MW2, you've got the perks, you've got pretty much the same levelling system, the movement feels the same, the guns feel very similar, you've got the kill streaks, even the rooftop map could easily be in MW2.

It's a lot more like MW2 than it is Crysis (1 / Wars) MP.

It maybe a wannabe but it certainly handles no where near as smoothly, most FPS games these days have xp features and unlocks for levelling.

I didn't say it WAS MW2, nor did I say it was as good (loved MW2 MP), I just said they have pretty much carbon copied it (or at least tried to).

And yes other games have also copied the MW MP structure, which is in no way a good thing, we've already got a series that does that, think up your own MP idea's people!


I personally loved Crysis's MP, it was like a modern day C&C Renegade, and i'm sad to see that they've reduced it to a normal run and gun MW clone.
 
I actually really like this. The basic mehanics are there. Perks etc. Game controls well.

The major problems are the framerate, only being able to get killstreaks by melee'ing other people and not having claymores (:p)

Also i don't understand this about it taking a full clip to put people down :confused: only takes me a few shots.
 
Pro tip: The kill streaks aren't from meleeing they're from collecting the dog tags that people drop when they die.

You'll see them blinking on the ground.

With regards to the number of round it takes to kill someone I find it a mixed bag.

Maximum Armour seems to play a bit part as do headshots. Also, watch you're energy. It seems it's linked to your built in "armour". So if you sprint around and have no energy you seem to get dropped a lot faster.
 
Ah I thought it was that to start with but noticed I only got them after fore arm smashing someone :p but that must be why they counted towards my streak with it auto collecting the tags.

I really find it enjoyable, just wish there was a few other maps.
 
Pier 17 looks huge! It's bad enough trying to find the opposing team on the demo map, doubly so when they're cloaked. :D

the problem is people keep firing from the hip when your using maximum armour, its pointless! takes me a few rounds as well, always fire down sights, helps not to aim for the heavily armoured chest, im guessing nanosuits have some hefty torso armour! :D i agree in that way, the game feels alright, for me its just the lack of visual polish more than anything, and the ridiculous melee! was gonna murder this bloke the other day, all he did was cloak camp and melee, what a total ****!

as much as this is heresy on the console games section, its definately one for the PC, not the consoles! would rather it wasn't 'watered down' if you know where im coming from?
 
Well, would like to have my say on the game but i cant !! 1st attempt at game was hard freeze but at the least the session was loading and then the next 5 attempts all resulted in the countdown reaching zero, then i lost connection to host !!
 
I'm really not to keen on the sound of the guns, something is just a little off with them. Also now and again its hard to tell if you have hit someone or not from a long distance as there was not sound of cross hair change that I noticed.
