becuase they look crap- especially when you compare them to the first game!
Crytek used to be about pushing the envelope out big time and raising the standard NOT churning out a generic fps that looks and plays pretty much like cod.

people dont want another cod have EA learned nothing from MoH?

Then go play the precious PC version and stop comparing the two, Jesus....

writing it caps does not make your point fact....:o stop getting all worked up, clearly hit a nerve.

you do understand that i own a ps3, 360 and pc right? so i would regard myself as having a well informed opinion.

and why cant we compare the 2? EA brought crysis to the consoles so its only right to be comparing....especially when they claim they can offer an experience that equals the pc version.Even this week have been mouthing off about how good the cry3 engine is. but from what iv seen and played it looks like every shooter out there atm.

and when they say that crysis 2 will look better than crysis then it is a pretty bold claim and one that warrants a comparison.

and thats completely my point above (that you failed to acknowledge in your tantrum) - that crytek in short have been caught by the balls with EA and simply cant produce anything like they used to be able too...

Ok how about I elaborate a little more for you..

The Xbox360 is NOT a PC - Fact. You are comparing the first which ran on better hardware than the 360 can offer.

A fair comparison would be this...

Considering the hardware restraints that the 360 has the game does not look as good as Crysis on a PC but the fact of the matter is that you can play Crysis2 on a machine that can be picked up for £80 second hand whereas to play Crysis1 on a pc with all the bells and whistles on you will be looking at a £5-600 pounds PC to do this. The work gone in to this to achieve a standard not far off the PC only original is work well done by Crytek. Considering this is their first dive in to the Console market I look forward to seeing what improvements can be made on the next game that will utilise the engine even more.

Oh and you didn't hit a nerve you just don't seem to realise what has been accomplished here and your post is basically ...... it's not the PC version therefore it's crap.

the standard you talk about is massively different from the pc original, it really is.
and to settle the argument i have zero hope in the pc port aswell, like i said theyv dumbed everything down meaning eveything from gameplay mechanics to graphical objects.

the beta has already turned into a corner camp fest too.

cod games are making a billion quid every year. is it any wonder other companies want to make games that are going to be popular and sell well?

cod is amazing imo but has room for improvement, if a company like crytek can use their superior engine while picking out the best gameplay elements of cod and adding their own to the mix then it sounds like win to me.

Well maybe if Crysis 2 was a 360 exclusive, developed soley for the 360's hardware then maybe it would look equal/better that the two titles you use to compare which were made soley for the PS3.
 
Just played 4 rounds of MP, first round 0-10... not good, whacked up the sensitivity to 60... next round 8-8, 3rd round 10-7, last round came MVP with 14-6.

I'm thinking that this is mainly due to the above comments that it plays almost like MW2 with a bit of Halo ODST thrown in. The 360 Beta (is this a MP Beta or full on demo) is very playable once you know the button and map configs.

Game is nothing special though, don't get me wrong it looks good and all (I'll probably get it) but its not ground breaking or anything.

EDIT: It did bug me though that it takes a lot of rounds to get someone down without a head shot. Obviously, after realising this you can take people down a lot easier. With the SCAR at the low level that I was on I was using it CS:S AK/M4 style with short bursts aimed directly at the head. It seemed to work well. Finally, thought the melee system was awful. I got 2 kills with it in 4 rounds it seems like you have no feeling of whether you have connected with it or not. I personally feel because of the type of melee that it is, a 1 hit kill is a bit over the top.

Just another console FPS.

Same old run and gun, see someone, mash the trigger then reload while jumping/strafing like an idiot. Rinse and repeat. Takes whole magazines to down anyone. Yet in the killcam, they seem to drop you in one or two bullets.There's nothing really new, still "XP" flashing up each time you do manage to kill someone.

It's just another CoD twitch game, with prettier visuals. And CoD is pretty dire.

Is this what it's going to be from now on? Each new game being the same, lazy rehash of whatever's already on the market? The only FPS of any note on Xbox seems to be BF:BC2, but that seems to be plagued by connection errors at the moment.

Looks like its time to spruce up my PC and wait for Heroes of Stalingrad to come out.
 
Well thus far from people i know and other forums im hearing nothing amazing other than "Well it looks very nice but gameplay is typical and abit meh" So it sounds exactly like Crysis 1 visually very nice but game is pap
 
Is this game likely to use EA's online multiplayer pass thing? Just working out if I need to budget for a pre-order instead of rental.

Where are the huge maps? where are the vehicles? (see Crysis : Wars)

Cysis MP is meant to be more like Battlefield type games. :(



The graphics are good for a console, but I'd say MW2 looks just as pretty, as do other games like Dead Space2 and the Gears of War series.


It's quite possible that the graphics have been reduced for the MP experience (as often happens) and that the single player will have better graphics, however as it stands it really isn't anything special, and the MP is a huge let down.

but its a one map demo:p those things mentioned may make an appearance in the full game.

I honestly can't see it. It feels very much like it's going to be a MW2 clone for MP.

There might be some 'bigger' maps, but huge areas like in Crysis:Wars? naaaah.

Crytek have already said there'll be no vehicles in the MP :(


Which IMHO is a huge step in the wrong direction.
