Played crysis 2 this morning fine, a bit laggy on the mouse tho, just played again and it updated to 1.1 patch now its unplayable, due to the screen flickering and mouse even lagger.
Playing on windows 7
ati 6990
8gig of ram
i5 sandybridge
gigabyte mobo
coolermaster 1000w psu

Tried on all the settings in the game menu, to no luck, just trying to play the game not online.

AMD crossfire/dual gpu cards are known to have the flickering issue but i am sure if it's fixed yet however i think the Steam forums or mycrysis forums may have some solutions to it.(i've read a few posts of some people who got lucky fixing it but not sure how.)

Edit: Apparently windowed mode removes it? Crytek seem to be aware of the issue and resolving it....it's also on SLI setups too.

Try renaming the Crysis2.exe to Cry2.exe then running directly from the newly named Cry2.exe. On 11.4 preview drivers this seems to run all the shaders, bloom and blur effects much better than any of the other .exe fixes I've tried, kills the eye searing bloom and flicker too. Just rename the file back to Crysis2 once you are done.

Thanks worked a treat, any idear why my mouse seems to be a bit laggy:confused:

Hey mate, I had the same screen flickering problem. It's due to driver problems and crossfire, ATI will probably fix the problem shortly. Anyways temp solution that works fine it to download Radeon Pro and boot Crysis.exe with the Bio Shock profile. I'm also using the Crysis 2 tool to unlock AA n all that good stuff. Fixed problem for me and my two 6950's flashed to 6970's. Getting between 40 - 100 fps through most of it. V playable and looks beautiful. I'm not sure why your getting low fps and lag tho. The only time I ever got that was because I was forcing CCC to up the gfx even more but that will not work at all right now so just leave it all on defaults. Well hope that helps, i'm off to go complete it now :) Great game......

this. I have the exact same graphics card set up as you kev and I too get good frame rates. Just use Radeon pro.

Ignore that part or look in your Crysis 2 directory and the place you extracted the config, if you can't see an autoexec.cfg, then don't worry about it.

I think i will need to buy a desent graphics card, as the frame rates are the same still and on cloudy scenes as soon as i shoot i get blocks of clear patches

You have the best single graphics card available at the moment, so no need to buy anything else.

What resolution are you playing at ?

Yours is running at exactly the same fps as my 5770's in crossfire, clearly it's a game programming issue so there is nothing you can do right now. It's probably nvidia paying crytec to run like this on ati being detected ;) its funny cuz it's prob true lol

Similar scenario to Crysis 1?

Downloaded the tool but have no root folder or autoexec.cfg to delete:confused:
what im i doing wrong

The root folder is the folder that you installed Crysis 2 into and if there isn't an autoexec.cfg don't worry, the tool makes one for you.
