Crysis Demo

im hoping to get away with 800x600. may drop the shadows if it gives a sizeable speed boost. but want to keep all the details at max for this game.

IMO i think performance will be real poor with 4xaa in DX9 and more so in DX10 even on a GTX but well see in a few weeks.

You know the demos of the game has been on the 8800 cards so..

Anyway, maxed out in Dx10 1680x1050 with 2x or no AA is good enough for me.

Doubtful tbh. I think a lot of the recent vids were done on GTX systems, they looked to be running AA and in DX9. I also noticed a lot of tearing which means the FPS must have been high. But it's a case of wait and see now.

with all the foliage and stuff on screen im expecting AA to take a considerable hit in performance for most cards. although 2xAA should be enough if a high enough rez is used.

very excited for the demo.

Yea maxed out in DX10 would be nice. AA isn't THAT necessary in this game. The motion blur it incorporates helps disguise jaggies. But 2xAA I would also be happy with if it comes to that.

Main problem is the demo comes out on a bloody Tuesday, middle of a working week practically. . Could have sorted it for Friday but then I would have spent all weekend trying to download it so I guess with it coming out Tuesday it means by the weekend it should be easy to source :)

I think people are overestimating Crysis, it will not take a £4000 pc to run it, you'll all be fine with your 8800's (even 320mb) and 2900xt's. Even the x1950 pro people will be fine, and even the 7600GT people will be running it on mid settings.

If this game comes out and only gets 60 FPS on GTX/ultra cards, then they need to take it back and try again and stick a big "FAIL" sticker on their company logo.

1600x1200, I expect it to run well, although apparantly i'll need faster for my res.

Have to admit, I couldn't care less about Crysis, if UT3 needs turning down i'll be most upset though. :D

yes the 320mb GTS should run it fine in Dx9, but what about those hoping it will run maxed in Dx10, it aint gona have enough memory imo, but we'll see when its released.

Imo the 320mb GTS is a tide me over card, its not a card to get if your intending to keep a while.

Im hoping it will run 25 (tho 30+ would be better) at 1280 res and 2x aa minimum. Specs in sig.
Maybe not able to run at ultra settings which i presume it will have a preset for, but high or medium should be doable.

My 8800GTS 640MB is shaking in its boots waiting for the Crysis demo, this will be the decider for me on wether I keep my GTS and wait for the next round of cards or if I upgrade to a GTX.

All depends on if the GTX shows a significant improvement in the Crysis demo.

GTS and a Quad should be fine I'd say.

1920x1200 with 2x fsaa, can you picture using supersampling with all that foliage? 1 frame every 30 seconds maybe.
