Crysis experimentings

Update guys:

didn't finish it all over the weekend as I had planned.
Now I won't be able to do it for 3 weeks :(
I'll be back home on the 19th though.

I've yet to find an absolutely amazing TOD, so I'm open to suggestions :D

Are you still getting rainbow refractions in the water as it doesn't appear in your shoreline pics

I don't really get rainbow refractions, no. Not from far away anyway, I think there might be the occasional one, but the water looks very good.

I really really want the water to look like the stuff here though:

Some amazing stuff in there :D

Hi guys, I should be able to finish testing out the mods listed over the next week. I have a question though.

When using the following commands in the game console:

r_WaterRefractions=1
r_WaterReflectionsQuality=4

They come up as the following

r_WaterRefractions [1] [DUMPTODISK]
r_WaterReflectionsQuality [4] [DUMPTPDISK]

There are also some other commands in the config that produce the message [APP_RESTART_REQUIRED] If said command is in my autoexec file, why do I need to restart the game to make it work :confused:

i did not realise crysis had this potential, dont know if ive got the time to learn all this and apply it.

i do feel i have the gpu power with CF to try something that would just improve visuals if it were quick to do,

looks fab!

sorry to hijack guys, but when you use a console command, how do you get it to stick? or can you at all?
Because i usually toggle crouch on, but it doesn't keep the setting, so i have to do it again when i load it up

cheers.:)

Also, natural mod, for me, makes it look far too grainy at night. There isa console command to turn off the low level light though, but i have to do that everytime as well..

and in answer to an earlier post.- yes they work fine in steam, but the config files will obviously be in a different place.

You'd have to make a config file. make it in notepad, and call it autoexec.cfg

in the first line of the file type:

con_restricted=0

then in the 2nd line, type the command to toggle the crouch setting. Then save the file in the crysis/game folder :)

thanks. i'll give it a go when i get my Graphics card back. My 5850 died a week ago, am waiting to get another. Fingers crossed for a decent dailly deal on a gpu tomorrow;)

I just ignored those - the settings were clearly applied for me even though it would say both DUMP TO DISK and APP RESTART REQUIRED.

For instance even setting the level of AA - that can be done in-game, and when set in an autoexec it clearly takes effect but still says restart required.
