Well, I can finally do it. 1440p, maxed settings with 16x AA is possible with SLI 670s and 4ghz i5 to give 60fps with vsync

Its only taken 7 years but it now runs and looks sweet... but so does Crysis 3 maxed in 1440p @ 60 fps (all be it no AA)

Anyone tried firing up Crysis original again? Still a great looking and playing game. Feels much less linear than new games

No, it's been a long time since I played it. However, I do remember the maps being a lot more open and allowing for more varied plans of attack.

I need to reinstall it actually, the last time I played it was when it came out (I had a 8800GTS back then)! But I'll have to connect my DVD drive to my case...

I installed a few Crysis 1 mods the other day. Must do that more often. :)

I was playing at 1200p and x8 AA. The fps was very, very good most of time, though during especially intense firefights it tanked down to as low as 15. I did have a fair few mods running, though.

Edit : maybe it's a cpu bound game...I might try it again soon with a higher clock speed.

I've never been that much of a Crysis fan either. I like the visuals, though the story interests me little, and the atmosphere and immersion doesn't grip me like some other fps titles. I find myself modding Crysis 2 (prefer the combat for some reason) more often than the first, too (several times vs once). I haven't played Crysis 3 yet.

Crysis games have never done it for me either. Not a fan of the advanced tech nonsense stuff really, futuristic stuff really.

I've played Crysis, Crysis 2 and Warfighter. They're alright, entertaining if there's a new game lull. I tried playing Crysis 3 but stopped, haven't got round to playing it again.

What we need is a Vietnam mod for Crysis 3. Jungle warfare, no suit, real guns.

I'm not really a fan of the suit tech stuff either but Crysis 1 had it right IMO, not too over complicated. I didnt play Crysis 2 much but Crysis 3 the suit is too complicated. I haven't even used the upgrade stuff (or know how it works - the thing that spins around like a fruit machine!)

I've played Crysis and Crysis Warhead through to completion only once each, though I think I preferred Warhead a little more out of the two. I remember it being a little less taxing on my system, too. :)

Have you put pics in the hi res game picture thread? Give me some incentive to go back and play again.
I also didn't realise you could mod it, so I may go look at those too.
