Crysis. Maxed!

None of them look like the announcement screens that had a hot/steamy jungle photo, the Graphics did not look like that in final game.

Happens a lot today.

Does anyone have any tips for me, I fired of Crysis: Warhead up recently and it runs a bit rubbish, it feels like it's capped at 30 fps or so, it feels stuttery in game, and in the main menu. 1080p, 4x MSAA, all enthousiast settings, NO vsync.

It should run fine, but it feels like it's fps capped or so ?

4.5 ghz i7, 12gb RAM. GTX680...

Anyone have any tips for me to make it run better ? I think it's a bug as the main menu feels capped too...

I did think it was quite a good game despite being treated like a mere benchmark. Wasn't fond of the alien sections and ending seemed almost abrupt but still not bad bearing in mind on rails shooters that been released since.

Ok I have Run fraps and it runs at 50-80 fps ingame, and 1500 fps in the menu, but it feels, laggy, as if there's some kind of input/mouse lag. Anyone know what I mean and had similar ?

It's probably a v-sync issue, I remember the original gave me a few issues with the same thing, just try pressing alt + enter a few times, might sort it out.

Yep there's a bug that caps the refresh rate of your monitor at 30 despite fps being higher, you have to alt and enter maybe a few times and maybe when the loading screen is on, rather than waiting for it to load.

If memory serves correctly alt entering once or twice when the eye logo is up should do it.

I did enjoy crysis but it was definitly more of a showcase than a game.

I thought it was one of the best single player story driven shooters about, still is. For a change, there is actually an explanation for the bullet sponging and heath regen. If you play it like a straight FPS then its probably going to be pants. If you approach engagements like a cloaked super soldier with Hulk like strength, using the environment and your equipment to your advantage, exhilarating. Taking out a Korean checkpoint by means of ambush and running gunfight, leaving nothing but burning wreckage and collapsed huts was great.

I'd strongly suggest playing again (first one) now that maxing it is relatively achievable. Alien stuff was a let down though. Warhead was more focused but a little less free. I like both tbh

Maybe I was distracted by how pretty it was but I missed the storyline :(. The actual gameplay and graphics were amazing. I do remember being dissapoined with the destruction of various elements.

The last game I played with great destruction was red faction gurellia iirc. BF4 despite being touted as a new generation of destructible environments isn't as good.

My perfect game would be crysis graphics, red faction destruction, soldier of fortune gore system and the story of halo :D.

I'll have to give crysis another go.

This. I never finished it, but I got quite far and the most fun I had is when I roleplayed being predator or a terminator style soldier. All games are better when you are creative in your own approach.

Thanks, I'll look more into this issue, as it feels like 30 fps indeed!

I have looked more into the issue and the problem is the game running in 24hz, no wonder it ran like a bloody dog, I noticed the framerate being capped at 24 fps when I turn ON vsync.

Stupid thing has some kind of problem with Nvidia > HDMI 1080p and doesn't see that my A/V receiver supports both 50 and 60hz and defaults to a rubbish 1920x1080 @ 24hz :(.
