Crysis Mods

The map has the config on it already. All I've done is put the single xml file onto the map which has the information for the dynamic camera movment and noise. I haven't changed the aesthetics of the map in any way - other than spawning objects into it. I posted the link for the map pack in this thread, somewhere above. However it doesn't have the .cry file, so you'll be able to load up the map, but it wont have the EQM features, it wont have any enemies in it and you wont be able to edit it. So once I've made a couple variations of enemies that i like I'll put together a mini pack including the cry files (for you to edit if you choose) and upload it.
But yeh, the map as you see it you can download from the link i posted before, I'm just trying to make it so you can play in it rather than just oo and aa at the pretty graphics as it's intended for multiplayer only. (- and once again, just to make sure i give full credit, the map is a total creation of CyberAlien, he's done a fantastic job.)

I don't know how people can say Vanilla Crysis looks better than Realifesis. Blurry background? Never noticed, just looks very realistic to me. You're eyes can only focus on a set point at any one time anyway and this is what the mod tries to simulate. If you don't like the effect you can always disable it. The only downside I have found with Realifesis is it is a framerate killer unless you have a monster rig. For that reason I'm now using my own custom config again which exceeds very high in terms of visual quality and still provides an excellent framerate for smooth, fast gameplay. I use the Hi Def foliage mod, and Rygels texture pack 2 together with my own config, cvars, system and autoexec files. Will post some pics when I've finished doing matienence on my Pc(typing this on my phone!)which will probably be tomorrow.

Want to try realifesis, but put off by the fact that it apparently makes the game unplayable at the end.

finally managed to get crysis to take a high quality jpeg. the only way was to run the 32bit version as administrator

EDIT: It's a pretty big image

Using high def foliage, natural mod and an extreme quality auto exec that I got from the web :)

Hey mate. That screenshot looks pretty good.

I thought Crysis was set to take a screengrab if you press F12? I might be wrong though. I use Msi Afterburner to take my screengrabs now. (Msi Afterburner - Gpu Overclocking software - but has other features as well). It is active all the time anyway, so I mapped F12 to take a grab from within the software. Works with any game, application or whatever. Maybe this might help?

I have tried using F12, but unfortunately that takes a very low quality screenshot. I was using the

e_screenshot 1 command, so that I could take a high quality screen :)

Ah ok, I would still recommend using Msi Afterburner then. You don't have to use the Overclocking facilities if you don't want to - just ignore them, but the screen grab feature is very useful and I'm sure you can specify what resolution it will take the grab at.

This is with mods.

This one is with everything set to very high, except object quality, which is custom. And the hi res foliage mod is obviously still there.

I can't really see any difference to be honest, not sure if the mods are working properly, or indeed if they change the game much :o

^ can hardly see any difference there. It's the areas where you have high contrasts with lots of shdaows and intense light that you see the difference really.

Yeah, but when you unzip it only use the second file in the zip as the first one contains Rygels foliage textures which in my opinion don't look as good as the hi def foliage ones which they will overwrite. As for Afterburner, it does indeed have the screenshot feature. I think its in the settings.

Okay, I downloaded Rygel's texture pack and I've certainly noticed an fps drop, but I can't seem to see any visual difference at all. I used the nanosuit pack and the 2nd texture pack, but not the first one.

Well, the effects are quite subtle, the road and rocks certainly look better, the wood, metal sheeting, barrels and objects are also improved, but I find lots of small improvements add up to make a big difference.

Didn't Rygel's texture pack make a noticeable difference to the parallax mapping ?

Make sure that's enabled, and as Sonic said it should make the roads, ground & rocks look a fair bit better.

Most of these screenshots don't even have good AA, unless I am missing something. Most of them don't look too appealing even if they might be detailed.

I think some of the screen shots appear to be missing post processing effects. Some of them though seem to have turned out really nice. With the right balance of mods, Crysis is still the best looking game out there imo.

The people that said Crysis was unoptimized always made me chuckle.

3+ years on, and it can still be shown to be the best looking pc game out there.
