Crysis Multiplayer Beta now on Fileplanet

I don't understand the GTS owners saying it runs well in 1680x1050 maxed out, runs dog slow for me.

I'm enjoying it, but there's so many bugs that I'm a bit worried they won't be fixed before the demo comes out. I keep trying to get on the beta forum to add to the bug report threads but Forumplanet keeps giving me a 404 when I put the password in.

"log in" to the forums first ;)
Made the same mistake.

Crysis seems to be giving odd performance even though people have similar configs, quite strange.

I think the single player demo should be fine, after all this is only the MP beta not SP so fingers crossed.

Well from what ive read for one reason or another the beta doesn't support multi core cpu's despite the fact the full game was coded to take advantage of them (makes a ton of sense).

If the demo supports multi core then there should be a substantial bump with quad performance (hopefully).

can bullets go through wood and thin metal in this game? e.g if someone is behind a door you can shoot through the door if its made of a material that bullets can pass through?

Not sure if it was the gun, but I had a sub-machine gun and the cheap metal used around bunkers, well, it can't shoot through that :X.

My setup is:

8800 GTX, 4 gig Ram, AMD 64 3800 x2, vista ultimate 64.

The very high options aren't availible and performance is very poor even on medium settings at 1280x1024, lots of gfx bugs too :\ (updated to latest nvidia drivers).

Just had my 1st few games, 1 point i installed onto vista but the very high gfx options wasnt available.

ultra high isn't avalible in the beta version. still the graphics are bloody amazing! will be back on tonight ready to kick some arse :D

p.s. for the guy beforehand who asked about pings.... no i was getting 15m/s on the servers with 0-10 guys on and the larger servers up to 32 provided a max of 30m/s :)

Well it seems my X2 3800 and 7600GT are not going to stand a chance:( - I was hoping to use some med settings at low res, but I think even that may be over optimistic. Goodness know what it will be like in SP with AI sapping even more resourses if people are struggling with C2D's and 8800's.

I wonder if an 8800gts 320mb would make enough differance coupled with what I have to at least make it enjoyable?

I tried it on a 3800x2, 3 gig ram and a 7800gtx and it sucked badly, ran like a dog not even sure if a 8800gts 320 would make that much difference

My 8800GTS 640MB manages 20-30fps in the beta, mostly in the low 20s, which is unplayable for me in a multiplayer scenario and is even pushing it in single-player for an FPS (if it was an RPG I wouldn't care.)

This is on high settings, very high is disabled. I've taken to using all medium for the sake of smoothness.

I'm using the latest drivers and I've not monitored video memory usage, but I bet it's maxed out or close.

Oh-dear sounds like it may not be as scaleable as they were claiming...I know it's only BETA but I cant see things improving that much in the next two months. looks like I may have to wait till I upgrage the whole system before it's worth trying to play.

I'm worried about performance and I'm worried about the bugs.

It's an insanely fun game but I can't really see them fixing those things before the demo, maybe for official launch though. I'm hoping that the beta is a few builds behind what they have in their offices.

make sure you have the windows vista video management update as it makes the world of differnts in vista! did when i installed it anyway runs on high at 1680x1050
